The Role We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Apprentice Furniture Sprayer / Finisher to join our team. This is an entry-level position where you will learn a highly skilled, specialised trade in a hands-on workshop environment. Working alongside experienced craftspeople, you will learn the entire process of preparing, spraying, and finishing high-end bespoke furniture, cabinetry and joinery. Over the course of the apprenticeship, your duties will include: • Surface Preparation: Learning how to inspect, sand, de-nib, strip, and repair raw timber or manufactured boards between coats to achieve a flawless base. • Material Selection & Mixing: Learning how to safely measure, mix, and colour-match various paints, lacquers, stains, primers, and polyurethanes. • Spray Application: Developing hands-on techniques using specialized spray guns and finishing equipment in a dedicated extraction booth. [ • Equipment Maintenance: Learning to strip down, clean, lubricate, and maintain spray guns, lines, pumps, and booths to keep tools operating efficiently. • Quality Control: Checking completed work under optimal lighting for common paint/finish defects Candidate Profile & Desired Skills No prior spray-painting or finishing experience is required, as full training will be provided. Polymer Processing Technology Apprentice
We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join the Operations department at our Castleblayney site in Ireland. As the Polymer Apprentice you will be working as part of the Technical Processing Team reacting to and resolving day to day issues, working closely with other departments and production lines to identify improvements to processing reliability, safety and product quality with an overall view to maintaining the world class levels of manufacturing. You will develop technical polymer knowledge and gain practical experience in the workplace, alongside completing a professional technical qualification (Level 7 NFQ). This is a blended combination of on-the-job employer-based learning and off-the-job learning. The apprenticeship is for 3 years, in which you will be employed by Kingspan Insulation and receive a competitive salary package. On successful completion of this programme, you will be awarded a Bachelor of Science in Polymer Processing Technology. What we are looking for in our Polymer Apprentice: You will have: * The minimum Leaving Certificate requirements for entry into the programme is a pass (Grade O6/H7 or better) in five Leaving Certificate subjects or equivalent. Carpentry and Joinery Apprentice
The Trade of Carpentry & Joinery is very wide and varied, it encompasses most of the skills required by the Wood Trades. These skills required of the Carpenter & Joiner are not confined to those required to work in wood but include skills in the use of metals, plastics and fabrics. The Carpenter & Joiner is also required to work in a cross section of domains within the overall trade. The following are some examples: Joinery Shop: This section of the occupation requires the Carpenter & Joiner to engage in setting out, production and assembling items of joinery which include stairs, doors, windows and built-in furniture. Site Work: Site work is the construction of buildings or houses which require 1st fixing, formwork roofs and 2nd fixing. This section is split into two categories, constructing/civil engineering contracts. Maintenance: Maintenance work requires the Carpenter & Joiner to carry out a variety of tasks in general maintenance and upkeep of public and private buildings, e.g. shops and factories. There are other areas associated with the trade which include: renovating buildings, shopfitting, exhibition/display work.
