We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join the Operations department at our Castleblayney site in Ireland. As the Polymer Apprentice you will be working as part of the Technical Processing Team reacting to and resolving day to day issues, working closely with other departments and production lines to identify improvements to processing reliability, safety and product quality with an overall view to maintaining the world class levels of manufacturing. You will develop technical polymer knowledge and gain practical experience in the workplace, alongside completing a professional technical qualification (Level 7 NFQ). This is a blended combination of on-the-job employer-based learning and off-the-job learning. The apprenticeship is for 3 years, in which you will be employed by Kingspan Insulation and receive a competitive salary package. On successful completion of this programme, you will be awarded a Bachelor of Science in Polymer Processing Technology. What we are looking for in our Polymer Apprentice: You will have: * The minimum Leaving Certificate requirements for entry into the programme is a pass (Grade O6/H7 or better) in five Leaving Certificate subjects or equivalent. Apprectice Carpenter/Joiner required Beginner or carpenter already in the apprenticeship programme required for busy workshop in Tuamgraney, Co Clare. Candidate will learn production methods of doors, stairs, windows, second fixing (skirting, architrave, door frames etc.) Some fitting on site will also be required. Hours of work 8am - 5pm Salary negotiable and based on skills and experience Immediate Start- registration through Solas for apprenticeship will commence once trial period of 3 months is completed. Must be interested in carpentry/joinery and show a willingness to learn.

Carpentry and Joinery Apprentice
Profile of Craft Core Skills Carpentry & Joinery Construction The Trade of Carpentry & Joinery is very wide and varied, it encompasses most of the skills required by the Wood Trades. These skills required of the Carpenter & Joiner are not confined to those required to work in wood but include skills in the use of metals, plastics and fabrics. The Carpenter & Joiner is also required to work in a cross section of domains within the overall trade. The following are some examples: Joinery Shop: This section of the occupation requires the Carpenter & Joiner to engage in setting out, production and assembling items of joinery which include stairs, doors, windows and built-in furniture. Site Work: Site work is the construction of buildings or houses which require 1st fixing, formwork roofs and 2nd fixing. This section is split into two categories, constructing/civil engineering contracts. Maintenance: Maintenance work requires the Carpenter & Joiner to carry out a variety of tasks in general maintenance and upkeep of public and private buildings, e.g. shops and factories. There are other areas associated with the trade which include: renovating buildings, shopfitting, exhibition/display work.
