Transport Administrator
Role Summary: To work to the resolution of daily challenges and taking emergency action where necessary to maintain operations of the fleet. You would be part of a team of 7 ensuring the smooth delivery of our service, and efficient operations of our routes and crews. Responsibilities & Duties: · Monitor communications with vehicles, drivers and on-board systems to meet service requirements. · Assist compliance with transport regulations · Analyse fleet performance, understand the underlying drivers and proactively work on improvements with the wider Logistics Team and help coordinate drivers and crew members based on route demand. · Communicate professionally, effectively and assertively with colleagues · Ensure compliance with site agreements, health and safety standards and defect reporting. · Carry out insurance reports and renewals, motor tax renewals and assist in dealing with accidents and incidents. · Liaise with transport manager to manage holiday cover and communicate with transport staff as required. We are seeking a Plant Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a wide range of mechanical equipment and systems. Tasks may be emergency, reactive, planned and corrective. Responsibilities: • Carry out the planned preventative maintenance programme. • Conduct regular inspections of mechanical equipment to identify and diagnose faults and wear and tear. • Repair and replace worn or damaged components. • Assemble, install, and test new mechanical systems and equipment. • Fabricate parts and components as needed. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities. • Follow safety procedures and regulations at all times. • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide input for equipment upgrades. Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic
Barna Recycling, Connacht’s leading waste management provider, are currently seeking a HGV mechanic to work as part of a team in our workshop at our Carrowbrowne Facility just outside Galway City. Duties & Responsibilities: · To perform routine maintenance on our fleet. · Electrical and engine troubleshooting and diagnostics. · Engine and transmission repairs. · Diagnose faults and malfunctions. · Perform 12 week safety inspections and pretests. · Provide training and advice to apprentices. · Ability to use hand and power tools related to motor vehicle service and repair. · Complete job reports using a computer or tablet. · Maintaining a clean work environment and follow health & safety procedures. · Work on a wide range of vehicles and trailers Skills: · Ability to diagnose malfunctions and faults. · Attention to detail. · Problem solving. · Knowledge of wiring. · Ability to operate diagnostic equipment. · Knowledge of methods of preventive maintenance and general maintenance. · Ability to work on your own and within a team. · Knowledge of waste industry and advantage but not essential. Qualifications: · Qualified HGV Mechanic. · Experience repairing truck fleet or similar. Remuneration: · Competitive rate depending on experience.
