Assimilation onto the scale is based on relevant work experience and in accordance with circular 17/0213 for existing permanent employees. Payment is made on a monthly basis by credit transfer. Hours: 39 hours per week, exclusive of unpaid rest breaks. Annual Leave: 24 working hours per annum.

Upon commencement of employment a training plan will be initiated for the Technician and will be discussed with the Technician as part of their development plan. This is a full time role working 39 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 - 18:15 (18:30 finish on Fridays). Training shift for the first few weeks will be Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:15. No laboratory experience requires, full training will be provided.

Profile of Craft Core Skills Carpentry & Joinery Construction The Trade of Carpentry & Joinery is very wide and varied, it encompasses most of the skills required by the Wood Trades. These skills required of the Carpenter & Joiner are not confined to those required to work in wood but include skills in the use of metals, plastics and fabrics. The Carpenter & Joiner is also required to work in a cross section of domains within the overall trade. The following are some examples: Joinery Shop: This section of the occupation requires the Carpenter & Joiner to engage in setting out, production and assembling items of joinery which include stairs, doors, windows and built-in furniture. Site Work: Site work is the construction of buildings or houses which require 1st fixing, formwork roofs and 2nd fixing. This section is split into two categories, constructing/civil engineering contracts. Maintenance: Maintenance work requires the Carpenter & Joiner to carry out a variety of tasks in general maintenance and upkeep of public and private buildings, e.g. shops and factories. There are other areas associated with the trade which include: renovating buildings, shopfitting, exhibition/display work. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Accounting Technician through the ATI Apprenticeship Programme (QQI Level 6). The role is office-based and combines four days per week of hands-on practice experience with one day of college study at Monaghan Institute of Further Education. Duties / Responsibilities (non-exhaustive list): · Follow safety rules and practices at all times. · Wear protective equipment specified for each task. · Advise Supervisor if you see anything suspicious or potentially hazardous or if you see possibilities for improvement. · Perform work as per assignment given by the Laboratory Manager or other supervisor. Report completion of the work. · Follow written methods and procedures when carrying out work. When written instructions are not available follow oral instructions given by the Laboratory Manager or other Supervisor. · Check and maintain order of the samples being processed and samples identification. Report any deviations to the Laboratory Manager or other Supervisor. · Handle the samples so as to preserve their identification and prevent their loss, contamination or confusion. Report any accidents to the Laboratory Manager or other Supervisor. · Monitor quality of work being performed, make notes of any anomalies, e.g. reactive samples, boil overs and incomplete dissolution. Report to the Laboratory Manager or Supervisor if necessary. · Fill in appropriate forms and worksheets and sign/initial records. · Operate equipment according to instructions/manuals and follow safety rules at all times. If applicable (e.g. balances, dispensers, dilutors) check calibration status of the equipment daily or before use. Report any anomalies/deviations in equipment performance to the Laboratory Manager or Supervisor. Do not use equipment that is out of order, misbehaving or giving suspicious results. Perform routine maintenance of the equipment (e.g. lubrication, changing/cleaning parts) as per equipment manuals/instructions. Keep equipment and workplace clean. When work is finished, tidy up the work area, clean equipment used and get everything ready for the next use. · Bring considerations regarding possible method or operation improvements to the Laboratory Manager or Quality Manager. · Complete all required records as per ISO 17025, INAB requirements and the laboratory’s quality management system. Experience & Expertise: Generally, none required as full training is provided, however previous laboratory experience is desirable. Qualification & Training: Full or partial secondary education with the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. This role is responsible for providing drug and alcohol testing services to safety critical business across the UK, Ireland, and overseas. This is an extremely varied role that will include the below duties: • The performance of various analytical procedures, including manual screening and automated methods covering a wide variety of clinical diagnostic and drugs of abuse tests. • The receipt and registration of biological samples into the laboratory • The qualitative and quantitative analysis of biological specimens for drugs of abuse, using biochip array technology and liquid chromatography – mass spectrometry (LCMS) techniques. • The preparation and handling of samples and diagnostic reagents. • The operating of various automated analytical systems. • The interpretation of analytical data. • The accurate maintenance of analytical records and quality documentation. • Strict adherence to chain of custody procedures throughout the analytical process. • The routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instrumentation. • The preparation of test records. • The transfer of biological specimens from RTS, ensuring continuity and stability is safeguarded during shipment. • Strict adherence to the company’s confidentiality policy within and outside the organisation. Who can apply? Essential criteria: • Qualified to at least degree level in a Life Science, Biochemistry or Chemistry • Enthusiasm to learn and follow instruction. • Possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks to achieve maximum efficiency without sacrifice of quality. • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Competency with Microsoft Office packages. • An eye for detail with the ability to work well under pressure without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
