Senior Social Work Practitioner
Purpose of Role: The post holder will have responsibility for contributing to the development and maintenance of high standards of professional practice and implementation of national policies in conjunction with the Principal Social Worker and Social Work Team Leaders. Social Care Worker
The team for Separated Children Seeking International Protection has the responsibility for providing a service to children and young people who are newly arrived in Ireland seeking international protection and who are separated from their parents or their guardian. The team provides valuable support to these most vulnerable children/young people from various countries who come to Ireland for safety, refuge, and better quality of life and as applicants for International Protection. The aim is to assist the young people in achieving their full potential through education and integration, to participate fully in Irish life and make a meaningful contribution to Irish Society through self-sufficiency and independence. To be supported with reunification where immediate family members join them in Ireland, escaping persecution, war and marginalisation in their country of origin. The service is multifaceted with operational responsibility for Intake, Duty and Initial Assessment of children and young people notified to Tusla by the IPO under the International Protection Act (IPA) 2015; for the intake eligibility assessment of such referred young people to determine their eligibility for service under the Child Care Act, for the placement of the young person. The service also manages teams for Children in Care and beneficiaries of temporary protection fleeing war in Ukraine and Subject to Placements under Section 5 of the 1991 Child Care Act; the provision of alternative care placements to Unaccompanied minors in Foster Care, Residential Care, Supported Lodgings and After Care Services. The team is expanding and involved in extensive service review and development. It is a multicultural team with a strong team ethos committed to meeting the needs of all service users. Purpose of Role The policy of Tusla Child and Family Agency is to enable children / young people to live with their own families wherever possible and to support parents where necessary in fulfilling that role. The Social Care Worker will provide care, protection, and support to vulnerable or dependent clients, individually or in groups, in conjunction with the wider multidisciplinary team and other relevant agencies. The primary aim is to provide intervention necessary to address the child / young person’s issues or the issues that are preventing them from living at home or in relative / foster care. S/he will ensure the welfare of those under his/her care and will act as an advocate as appropriate. Typically, Social Care Workers work across the following service areas: Community: Social Care Workers in the community work in a therapeutic / preventative / direct role with children / young people and their families. They typically work as part of a multidisciplinary team and can be based in different service areas, for example, Child Protection Services, Child Welfare Service, Children in Care Service, Partnership Prevention and Family Support Services and Aftercare services. The children / young people involved may be at risk of or have experienced abuse, thus may be emotionally affected or display behaviour difficulties. These risks and / or difficulties may prevent them from being able to live with their families and as a result may need to be in the care of Tusla Child and Family Agency. At our C&D Foods site in Edgeworthstown we are inviting application for the role of Warehouse Quality Controller to support our operations onsite. This role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. Key Responsibilities: •Pre-departure Checks (Daily-Ongoing) •Intake check on Pouches, Labels and Sleeves (All Deliveries) •Samples New pouches for R&D •KPI’s of Pre-Departure (Weekly) •Warehouse Monthly Audit •Work with Quality Team in relation to quarantine/release - Take ownership of quarantine/release in Warehouse •Ingredient Intake Check (Sample Check) •Spot check on raw materials on intake – Interleaving Thickness. •Glass Audit Freezer & Tempering Room – Weekly & Quarterly •Inverter check – check pallets being turned correctly, jiffy sheet in place •Daily GMP audit (Am & Pm) •Box/Sleeve check against artwork (Every Delivery) •Upkeep of Label, Pouch and Sleeve library Key Skills •Excellent Organisational Skills. •Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required to effectively deal with people at all levels of the business. •A service-oriented approach to work with a good understanding of customer requirements. •A conscious individual who leads by example and enjoys working in a safe and accurate environment with a flexible approach to work. •PC literate.
