Senior Speech & Language Therapist - Stroke Service (Stroke / Early Supported Discharge Team) RHM-7-25-172 Regional Hospital Mullingar Location of Post: Regional Hospital Mullingar Co. Westmeath There is currently one permanent full-time vacancy for a Senior Speech and Language Therapist within the Acute Stroke / Early Supported Discharge Team. A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for the position of Senior Speech and Language Therapist in the Stroke Service or acute rehabilitation service. This panel may be used to fill current and future permanent or specified-purpose vacancies, of either full-time or part-time duration. The current vacancy is for a Senior SLT shared across both acute stroke and ESD service. This service will be delivered in line with the National Clinical Programme model for stroke care, aiming to ensure a seamless transition for patients who are medically fit to return home from the acute hospital setting. To support the stroke patient journey as they transition from inpatient care to community based services, ensuring coordination of care and optimisation of available resources. The post holder will also be responsible for collecting service data, to demonstrate the effectiveness of the ESD model, and will participate in service innovation initiatives in conjunction with other team members. There will be opportunities to contribute to ongoing and new service development projects, as well as research activities on site. Eligibility Criteria 1. Statutory Registration Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc (a) Candidates for appointment must: (i) Be registered on the Speech and Language Therapists Register maintained by the Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU ( https://www.coru.ie ) AND (ii) Have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years) post qualification clinical experience in clinical setting. AND (iii) Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. AND (iv) Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Speech and Language Therapists Register maintained by the Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued. 2. Annual registration (i) On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on Speech and Language Therapists Register maintained by the Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU AND (ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC) 3. Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. 4. Character Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character. Post Specifics Essential: Previous clinical experience working with adults following a stroke An ability to assess and manage a range of communication and feeding, eating, drinking and swallowing disorders Certification and competence in managing dysphagia/feeding, eating, drinking and swallowing disorders Desirable: Certification and competence in videofluoroscopy assessment and analysis Previous clinical experience in acute hospital services Relevant CPD to stroke SLT post

What you will bring: · Fully flexible across 5 days, it is a full time role which includes weekends · Previous hands on experience in grooming salon and/or QQI Level 6 Dog Grooming/City & Guilds · Proficient in all aspects of grooming and clipping all dog breeds to a high standard. · Professional attitude that can communicate effectively with all salon customers and the wider grooming team to build trust and rapport with pet parents. · Time management: Independently prioritise and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes. · A passion for Animals: Interest in grooming/animal care.
