First Year Apprentice Vacancy Machine build is a highly technical craft role that is crucial to the success of producing the company’s high quality automation equipment for use in the Medical Device and Pharma industries. This is an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to work as part of the engineering project team. You will have the opportunity of working with leading edge automation technologies such as robotics, vision systems, drives, controls systems etc. It’s a hands on role that involves the mechanical and electrical assembly and debug of complex machines. The role contributes significantly to the continued success of Ward Automation. Responsibilities • Working from the design drawings to perform the mechanical and electrical assembly of bespoke machines. • Mechanical, electrical and pneumatic debug of machines. • Liaise and communicate with the different project team members. • Responsible for the quality of the build. • Responsible for ensuring that machine build timelines and targets are achieved. Key Skills • Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings. • Capable of clearly understanding the functionality of the equipment being built. • Ability to troubleshoot and develop creative solutions both mechanically and electrically. • A high degree of craft skill with the ability to setup machines to fine tolerances to produce the desired results. • Excellent communication skills. • Proficient computer skills in MS office, experience with mechanical and electrical CAD software is an advantage.

Motor Mechanics Apprentice
First year apprentice, no experience required but would be an advantage. Must have driving licence and rights to work in Ireland. The work of a Motor Mechanic involves the servicing, maintenance and fault diagnosis of automobile and light commercial vehicle mechanical and electrical systems, vehicle component removal, installation or repair according to original manufacturers’ specification. At the end of the apprenticeship, the craftsperson will be able to demonstrate competence in the following skills: Servicing Read, interpret and carry out manufacturers’ instructions for all vehicle service, maintenance and repair procedures. Complete a vehicle report form. Fgas Describe the overall aim of Regulation No. 842/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 May 2006 in relation to the air conditioning systems of automotive vehicles (MACs). List the dangers to personal health and related safety regulations related to the refrigerant gas contained in mobile air conditioning (MAC) systems. Describe the location of possible leaks of refrigerant gas from an automotive air conditioning unit. Engine Diagnose faults, dismantle and reassemble the engine and its ancillary components. Replace timing belts and chains. Use all recommended bolt tightening procedures. Electrical Read and interpret relevant electrical wiring diagrams. Use fault-code reader to interrogate ECU memory and OBD system. Employ a logical and structured fault diagnosis methodology (use of diagnostic flow charts). Measure and interpret quantities of electrical current, voltage and resistance. Diagnose and resolve faults in starter, charging and lighting circuits. Remove and replace vehicle lighting components. Painting and Decorating Apprentice

Farm Manager Apprentice
The Farm 180 ha with 50 ha of support ground for silage. Modern facilities with 40 herringbone parlour with cup removers/acrs, 535 cubicles and a brand new calving shed. Calf facilities for every calf born on the farm with all replacements reared on a 60 ha outfarm. New paddock, water and roadways installed in the last 2 years. 40% of the farm has high levels of clover. Mixed soil type with flood plain, peaty and gravel type soils all present on the farm so ideal for drought and wet conditions. 2nd Unit in operation close by with labour shared in spring and all cows calved in the one yard. The Herd Crossbred herd calving 85% + in 6 weeks with an 6-8% empty rate after 11 weeks. EBI is €166 with all the herd and youngstock genotyped. Herd achieved 470kgs of milk solids in 2025. Grass is measured regularly with 40 measurements done a year. Censortec Collars are fitted on the cows with all AI being used with a local technician. Sexed semen is used on the top performing cows and those of high genetic merit. High DBI selective used otherwise. The Work Environment We operate a 5/2 roster in the spring and switch to 1 weekend in 3 or 10 in 4 once the bulk of the calving is finished. Milking roster set up with one milking done per day (either morning or evening) except for weekends. There are 4 full time people working with us along with part time and seasonal help. Roles are clearly defined and adhered to. The day typically starts at 7am and finishes at 5pm and we try keep these hours as much as possible even in the spring. Cows are fully dried off around the middle of December and calve the 1st of February with extra time given off over Christmas. Canteen and kitchen provided along with work wear. Breakfast is provided each day. We encourage playing sport and/or hobbies and will be flexible with time off and milkings in order to suit time off farm.
