DESCRIPTION AND VISION OF SERVICES Corlann – West Region provide a community based, person centred service focusing on the needs and abilities of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The vision of the service is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their community, in line with best practice both nationally and internationally. Working in partnership with each person supported by services, we aim to create opportunities for people supported by services to have ordinary life experiences and to be closely connected to family and friends. Beo Adult Services provide a range of community-based servicesincluding day, residential, respite, community outreach, family support and a range of multidisciplinary support services. People are supported in day centres, supported employment, social and micro enterprises, training and education and these can be in groups or individualised. People are supported in residential settings in their own homes in the community individually and in groups. We wish to create opportunities for people who use our services to have valued social roles in their communities and to form friendships. We wish to recruit innovative, creative and motivated people who will relish the opportunity to assist in achieving this vision as part of a team. We are looking for people who will be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individuals they supportand are open to change. Location: Beo Adult Services (Knocknacarra). Staff allocation could be either within residential/respite/day settings or in community services. The appointee will initially commence working in one particular area of the Beo services and this work location may change due to future service needs. The Role: Social Care Workers fulfil a key worker supportive and advocative role for adults supported by the service in all aspects of their lives, focusing on each individual’s ability and promoting independence and development of skills at all times. The Social Care Worker will assist people with the development of person-centred plans and critically, will support people to make informed choices and fulfil their potential. They will encourage participation in the community through inclusive and creative thinking, seek opportunities for new experiences and encourage positive risk taking in leading to informed choices. Corlann’s model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures quality and person centred planning system requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each person supported Annual Leave: 22 days per annum (pro-rata for part-time), i.e. 8.46 hours per 100 hours worked. Appropriate service related leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years’ service respectively. Remuneration: Department of Health Social Care Worker salary scale as at 01/02/2026 apply: €40,851 x 11 increments - €56,155 per annum (pro-rata for part-time). A long service increment €57,217 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. Additional payments will be made for weekends, public holidays and night duty when worked. Salary quoted is based on a 39 hour working week. Principal Duties and Responsibilities The position of Grade IV encompasses administrative responsibilities which include the following: Administration • The role of the Grade IV Assistant Staff Officer is a client facing and administrative role within the administration team of the BreastCheck Unit responsible for the provision of front line service to all service users attending and contacting the BreastCheck Unit. Provide reception and phone support to the service users of BreastCheck in a timely and efficient manner • Answer incoming calls from service users schedule appointments and maintain and update screening records • Follow up with service users on upcoming appointments provide information and answer any questions presented in an efficient and courteous manner • Prepare and issue office documentation results correspondence reports etc to the highest possible standard with efficiency quality and accuracy • Identify and participate in areas of service improvement for service users of BreastCheck • Ensure the efficient day to day administration of area of responsibility sharing the workload of the administration team around the needs of the service user • Ensure that deadlines are met • Ensure that archives and records are appropriately processed accurate and readily available • Maintain confidentiality of documentation records etc and ensure adherence to GDPR legislation. Location Crannmór Children’s Respite Children’s Services provides respite services to children up to 18 years of age who have a wide range of needs including those with autism, physical disability, medical needs and behavioural needs The Role: Support Workers provide a key-working supportive role to children. This role comprises of two main elements. Firstly the Support Worker is responsible for all aspects of personal care required by the individual child. This includes supporting children with their meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being, to the extent required by the individual. Secondly, a major focus of the Support Worker role is to assist and support the child through the development of Individual Plan’s and the achievement of associated outcomes, and critically, to support children in participating in the ordinary everyday life of the community through inclusive and creative thinking. A recognised qualification appropriate to the field of intellectual disability is an advantage. A QQI Level 5 or higher desirable. • Candidates must have a minimum of six months experience working in a healthcare or childcare setting. Experience working with people with an Intellectual Disability and behaviours that challenge is desirable. • A full clean manual Irish Driving Licence (Class B) is an essential requirement of this post. It may be necessary for the appointee to obtain a Class D1 Driving Licence (if not already in possession of one). Assistance may be given towards this purpose of obtaining a class D1 licence. • Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post. • Candidates must be able to demonstrate flexibility, communication and team-working skills, together with an enthusiasm for the post. Some basic IT skills are also essential. Working Hours: 78 hours a fortnight are based on a 14 night duty roster. The successful candidate will be required to work 7 nights per fortnight including weekends, public holidays and will be required to attend meetings and training during daytime hours as part of their roster. At times, to meet service needs, daytime working hours may also be required. The Corlann model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. Location: Corlann – West Region provide a community based, person centred service focusing on the needs and abilities of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Working in partnership with each person supported by Corlann, we aim to create opportunities for people supported by Corlann to have ordinary life experiences and to be closely connected to family and friends. Living My Life is a person-centered project designed to empower individuals by offering them the autonomy to live their lives to the fullest, with the tailored support to ensure their well-being. The Living My Life project is so much more than housing it’s about creating more inclusive, sustainable communities and allowing the people we support to flourish and live self-directed lives. We wish to recruit innovative, creative and motivated people who will relish the opportunity to assist in achieving this vision as part of a team. We are looking for people who will be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individuals they supportand are open to change. The Role: Community Support Workers provide a key-working supportive role and assist in the delivery of community support to individuals with Mild Intellectual Disability and sometimes a secondary diagnosis of Mental Health, some of whom may present with behaviours or lifestyles that can be deemed as challenging. This role comprises of mainly one to one working with individuals in the local community or sometimes in their own homes. A vital part of our Community Support Worker role is developing a community profile through; researching the local area, linking with local organisations and clubs, liaising with educational and training bodies and building positive and lasting relationships with all public and private services who assist the individuals we support to live independent lives in their communities. A major focus of the Community Support Worker role will also be encouraging and assisting individuals supported to develop their own life plans based around needs and interests. The Community Support Worker will work closely and inclusively with significant others involved in the individuals life such as family / next of kin and be supported and guided their practice by service social work, psychology, psychiatry and management when required. Reporting/Responsible To: Senior Staff/Team Leads/MDT where appropriate/Service Coordinator/Service Manager Qualifications/Experience/Skills: Ø Candidates must have a good general education. A recognised qualification appropriate to the field of intellectual disability is an advantage. QQI Level 5 or higher is desirable. Ø Candidates must have a minimum of one years’ experience of working with individuals with an Intellectual Disability. Candidates must have a minimum of six months experience of working with individuals with Mental Health Disability or individuals who display behaviours that challenge. Ø Candidates who will bring enthusiasm, professionalism, confidence and creativity to our services. Ø Candidates must be able to demonstrate flexibility, communication and team-working skills, together with an enthusiasm for the post. Ø IT skills are also required. FCS use online tools for report writing, recording, planning and dissemination of information. Ø Candidates must have access to their own vehicle and hold a full clean Driving Licence (Class B), which is an essential requirement of this post. Ø Candidates from outside the EU must also hold the required permits to work in this area. Ø Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post. Working Hours: 30 hours per fortnight. X1 Permanent Part-time Community Support Worker (30 hours per fortnight). The location of this post is Clifden Co. Galway All full-time posts are based a 14 day duty roster. The service provision is guided by the people we support and in line with this, hours of support are offered between 8am and 8pm with some weekend work required. Corlann model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours in order to ensure the provision of high quality services for each individual. Annual Leave: 22 days per annum Remuneration: Department of Health Care Assistant (Disability Services) salary scale (01/08/2025): €34,036 x 11 increments - € 46,652 (Max) pro rata per annum. Long Service Increment (LSI) €47,454 pro rata per annum is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. Additional payments will be made for weekends, public holidays and night duty when worked. Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. Employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion. Travel: The person appointed must provide his/her own car and must furnish an indemnity from Insurers in favour of the employer. Travelling expenses at the appropriate rate will be paid in respect of travel necessarily performed in the discharge of duty.
