SENIOR FINANCE OFFICER Are you an experienced finance professional looking to make a real impact? MACS Supporting Children and Young People is seeking a Senior Finance Officer to join our dedicated team. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services and working closely with our outsourced finance partner, you’ll play a key role in managing finance, contracts, and procurement across the organisation. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, payroll support, and financial performance reporting. You’ll also help ensure that all contracts and procurement processes meet compliance and organisational standards. We’re looking for a finance professional with strong technical skills and experience in delivering accurate, efficient financial services. You should have a solid understanding of best practice in financial management, with the ability to ensure consistency, compliance, and high standards across all areas of work. In this capacity, the post-holder will provide clear direction and support to their section(s). They will be responsible for the effective management of services that come under their control in the pursuit of service excellence and value for money. The post-holder will support the Directorate / Section in implementing the integration of new and current functions and responsibilities. They will assist in the delivery of high quality services across the Department by using performance management to drive continuous improvement and by effectively using the Council’s resources. The post-holder will ensure that their Section and its employees comply and adhere to all statutory and legislative requirements and works in accordance with good governance and safety requirements. Duration of Appointment: Permanent Hours of Work: 36 Hours per week The post holder must be prepared to work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and Public and extra Statutory Holidays for which the appropriate payment will be made or time in lieu granted if relevant. Work Pattern: Flexi Monday to Friday Hours of work are kept under review and may change in order to meet operational requirements, providing requisite notice. Location: Council Offices, Downshire Civic, Downpatrick or Council Offices, McGrath House, Newry. The post holder may be required to transfer to other locations in accordance with any requirements stated in the Job Description, any reviews of service delivery or other requirements as may arise from time to time.
