BROTHERS OF CHARITY SERVICES IRELAND – SOUTHERN REGION The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland – Southern Region is a major voluntary organisation, which provides age related residential, educational and day services for people with intellectual disabilities, autism and communication disorders throughout the Cork and Kerry area. Applications are invited for the following:- STAFF GRADE CLINICAL / EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST Ref: 33/2025 Permanent Full-Time (35 hours per week) Children Disability Network Team 1 (North Kerry) Based in Listowel, Co. Kerry (Outreach to Castleisland/Tralee) Job Summary This post is in Network 1 (North Kerry), working as part of an Interdisciplinary team providing supports to children and young adults, 0-18yrs and their families. This will include children with Intellectual, Physical, Sensory disability, children on the Autistic Spectrum and children at risk of or query developmental delay; where their needs require the support of an Interdisciplinary Disability team. This team is under the national model of service provision “Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People” lead by the HSE. The successful candidate will be employed by the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland. The Network 1 North Kerry team is based in Listowel with an outreach service to Tralee to provide input to families from the Castleisland/Farranfore area . A ssessment, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions are provided by an Interdisciplinary team. The CDNT aims to maximise the child/ young adult’s full potential and works within the context of the family and community, empowering and supporting parents/care givers and family members Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc Candidates must have professional qualification as per the Department of Health guidelines See job description for full criteria. Have a university degree or diploma (QQI Level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject, AND Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology OR An equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health. AND Must have 6 months experience of working as a Psychologist , or Trainee Psychologist under supervision, with children with disabilities (Intellectual Disability, Autism and/or Physical and Sensory disabilities) Driving Licence Must have a full driving license and means of transport which qualifies you to drive on Irish roads. Age The Public Service Superannuation (Age of Retirement) Act, 2018* set 70 years as the compulsory retirement age for public servants. * Public Servants not affected by this legislation: Public servants recruited between 1 April 2004 and 31 December 2012 (new entrants) have no compulsory retirement age. Public servants recruited since 1 January 2013 are members of the Single Pension Scheme and have a compulsory retirement age of 70 Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service Character Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character Salary Scale: €61,362 - €105,050 including 2 LSI's per annum (Department of Health Consolidated Scales 1/3/25). * Successful candidates are required to submit all documentary evidence outlining any relevant experience within 3 months of starting date. SUPPORT WORKERS Ref: 13/2025 Residential Services (Adults & Children) Permanent Relief hours up to 78 hours per fortnight Locations: Cork city, suburbs, Bandon, Innishannon and Fermoy areas The Role Support Workers provide a key supportive role for individuals supported by the Service. This role comprises of two main elements. Firstly the Support Worker is responsible for all aspects of personal care required during the day. This includes supporting individuals with their meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being, to the extent required by the individual. Secondly, a major focus of the Support Worker role is to assist and support People who use the Service with the Implementation of their Individual Plans and the achievement of associated outcomes and critically, to support People who use the Service in participating in the ordinary everyday life of the community through inclusive and creative thinking. The successful candidate may be required to be a key worker and develop and review individual plans. The Candidate The successful candidates must It is essential that all candidates have adequate immunity against Hepatitis B as per Immunisation Guidelines for Ireland 2008 Reporting to: Social Care Leader in the community and residential setting and through the Line Manager structure to the Area Manager, or other authorised person as the Employing Authority may designate. Salary Scale: €33,699 - €46,984 including 1 LSI per annum (1/3/25 Department of Health Consolidated Scales).
