We are seeking an experienced and motivated Training Specialist to join the team in Letterkenny. Reporting to the Director of Operational Excellence, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing employee capability, driving operational excellence, and supporting a culture of continuous learning across a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities · Deliver onboarding, induction, compliance, and skills-based training programmes. · Facilitate classroom, practical, and on-the-job training across production, quality, engineering, warehouse, and support functions. · Coordinate employee competency assessments, certification, and recertification programmes. · Maintain training records, skills matrices, and training compliance documentation. · Identify training needs and support workforce development and succession planning initiatives. · Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, EHS, HR, and site leadership teams to ensure training supports business objectives. · Support audits, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives. · Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve training materials and delivery methods. Requirements · Third-level qualification (Level 7 or above) in Learning & Development, Education, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline. · 3–5 years' experience in a manufacturing, production, operations, or training environment. · Experience delivering training within a regulated manufacturing environment. · Strong presentation, coaching, facilitation, and communication skills. · Excellent organisational and administrative abilities with strong attention to detail. · Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. · Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels and across shift-based operations. Desirable · Qualification in Training, Adult Education, Learning & Development, or Instructional Design. · Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS). · Train-the-Trainer qualification. · Experience in food, pharmaceutical, medical device, FMCG, packaging, or other regulated manufacturing sectors. · Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, GMP, HACCP, ISO, Six Sigma, or similar standards. Location:  ABP Rathkeale, Limerick Responsibilities: • Work with Site Maintenance Managers, Planners and API Maintenance Lead on execution of the site maintenance program to deliver compliant, reliable and efficient operation of all plant and equipment. • Support the Reliability Engineer in the execution of Reliability Centered Maintenance initiatives. • Develop and lead a Root Cause Failure Analysis Program to reduce general equipment breakdowns and support maintenance personnel to conduct real time Root Cause Analysis. • Work with the Reliability Engineer & Planning to establish and use reliability & work planning metrics/KPI's to monitor improvement and resource optimization e.g. PM/CM ratio, schedule adherence, etc. • To carry out start up checks on machinery throughout the plant on a daily basis. • Ensure that all breakdowns are carried out swiftly and safely at all times. • Ensure that all servicing and maintenance throughout the site is done in an efficient, safe and hygienic manner. • Smooth running of the factory. • Repairs, servicing and good maintenance of machinery. • Work on refrigeration, plumbing and all breakdowns is carried out in a safe and tidy manner. • To implement and follow the preventative maintenance schedule • To ensure that records are completed. • Other duties as assigned. • Refrigeration experience an advantage but not essential • To ensure that the staff comply with the Company Health & Safety policy. • The above job description is designed to give an appreciation of the main functions of the job. BACKGROUND TO THE POSITION The N4 route between Mullingar and Longford (Roosky) forms part of the Dublin to Sligo national primary route. The existing road is a single carriageway passing through several settlements, including Ballinalack, Rathowen, Edgeworthstown, Longford and Newtownforbes. It is a key strategic route which provides connectivity from Dublin to the Northwest of the country. The proposed N4 Mullingar to Longford (Roosky) Scheme proposes to connect the N4 Mullingar Bypass (Dual Carriageway) to the N4 Dromod Roosky Type 2 Dual Carriageway. The Scheme consists of approximately 51 km of mainline carriageway and will include grade-separated junctions/roundabouts with existing national roads, river/rail crossings, and junctions and link roads, as required, to allow the continued flow of traffic on the existing road network. The proposed scheme will improve journey times and safety will be improved for all road users. DUTIES OF THE POSITION The person appointed as Project Liaison Engineer shall be responsible for the co-ordination of the planning of this National Road Project and such other duties as may from time to time be assigned to him/her. This will include liaising with landowners, the TII Regional Design Offices, TII personnel, Longford County Council personnel, consultants and all others directly or indirectly involved in the project.
