Manager (Teaching) Early Years

Little Scholars Montessori & Childcare is looking for an Early Years Manager to join our team for September 2024 opening. We are a small service that caters for 19 children. We have successfully run for over a decade currently have 3 services, 2 in Lusk, Co.Dublin and 1 in Baldoyle. We are offering a full time position of 45 hours per week – This involves full day classroom teaching and light managerial administration duties. Classroom hours are Monday – Friday, 8am-6pm daily with a 1 hour break each day. Daily morning and afternoon paid breaks. (This may be able to be reduced to a 9am-6pm role if of interest and admin work to be done on Fridays on site.) Roles & Responsibilities; – To lead a classroom of 19 children, 15 max in the afternoon. – Responsible for one teacher and when needed an Aims Assistant. – To be the mandated person within the preschool and fulfill all other designated classroom roles such as Child Protection Officer, Fire, First Aid, H&S Officer etc. – Ensure the safety, security and well being of all children in your care. – To try and solve and child / staff problems initially and if need be liaise with the Owner. However, all major issue should be reported back to the Owner. – To guide, observe and supervise Little Scholars staff. – To be the main point of contact for parents. – To fulfill all managerial administration duties. – To liaise with early year stakeholders, as required, such as Pobal, Tusla, DCYA, ECI etc (The owner will be to able to offer support). The ideal candidate will have; – Minimum Fetac Level 5- Supervision in Childcare/Early Childhood Care and Education. – Experience in a similar role desirable – Familiarity with Hive, Inspections and an understanding of early years managerial administration duties. – Good delegation skills. – A good understanding of all relative guidelines and regulations under Aistear, Siolta and the Childcare Regulations. -Montessori Teaching diploma, First Aid, Manual Handling and Child protection (all desirable but not essential). An Cosán Community Special School is a child-centred, co-educational, multi denominational, publicly accountable school which strives to provide high quality education for every child attending. The new school will cater for an enrolment of up to 24 students when it is established and, on a phased basis, is expected to grow its capacity to provide up to 60 school places in the short to medium term, pending a new permanent school building being provided. As per Department of Education regulations, students will leave school at the end of the school year in which they reach the age of 18 years. To facilitate this age band, the range of classes extend from primary to post primary. Class grouping swill be based on a combination of age, appropriate peer groupings and the needs of each child. The school operates within the regulations as outlined by the Rules for National Schools and relevant circulars and directives issued by the Primary / Special Education sections of the Department of Education. The school is funded by grants from the Department of Education. Staffing allocations are in line with those set out by the Department of Education. Under the direction of the Patron, the school will be managed on an interim basis by a Single Manager pending the appointment of a Board of Management. The Board of Management will be made up of representatives of the Patron, parents, school staff and the community. City of Dublin Education and Training Board (City of Dublin ETB) was established on 1st July 2013 under the Education and Training Boards Act, 2013. City of Dublin ETB has 3,000 employees and an annual budget of €580m. It is the state education and training authority for Dublin city and serves the area covered by Dublin City Council. This provision is delivered to over 48,000 learners (20,000 full-time and 28,000 part-time) and is supported by a range of services including a psychological service, a curriculum development unit, a buildings maintenance unit and Head Office staff in Ballsbridge. It also has statutory responsibility for supporting the provision, coordination, administration and assessment of youth work services in Dublin city and is the lead partner for Music Generation Dublin City.
