The Consultant General Adult SI Substance Misuse for the new Dual Diagnosis service will be part of the existing group of Consultant Psychiatrists in the Dublin South & Wicklow Mental Health Services area and will have access to resources equivalent to their other Consultant colleagues. The post holder will also be working in partnership with the HSE Addiction Services in Social Inclusion and Liaison Psychiatry colleagues in the Acute hospitals where this exists. In addition, this post holder will also be linking in with the community and voluntary agencies and other statutory supports as part of their role. The post holder will work closely with their fellow Consultants to further develop the community orientated service; promote the efficient use of resources; develop services to enhance community care of patients; to minimise crises and pressure on in-patient services: and to facilitate the delivery of current and future clinical programmes. They will support the on-going timely response to referrals to the service, enabling the improvement of waiting lists and ensuring a timely response to urgent referrals and ensuring targets are met. The Consultant will provide outpatient care, domiciliary visits, and emergency assessments and will chair the weekly Multidisciplinary Team meetings. There is a very strong Multidisciplinary Team ethos. The Team facilitates the most efficient use of inpatient beds by providing intensive care and support to avoid hospitalisation. When inpatient care is required, they will b e admitted under the appropriate catchment area consultant. The post holder will also work closely and in partnership with members of the multidisciplinary with input from Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work health care professionals, employment officers and supported by administrative staff.This is an initial 1 year Temporary appointment to HSE Dublin South East & Wicklow Healthcare Area (Mental Health Services) on a Public Only Consultant Contract 2023 by the Health Service Executive. The initial commitment for this post will be to HSE Dublin South East & Wicklow Mental Health Services for 37 hours per week. This post may be subject to restructuring in the future to facilitate the reorganization of acute services in line with new clinical models of acute and community services. It is noted that the post must be congruent with the requirements of, and facilitate implementation of national health policy, the HSE’s National Clinical Programmes including commitment to deliver the relevant performance outcomes. Senior Behaviour Support Specialist / Clinical Nurse
Avista is a dynamic disability service providing clinical support and residential services to children, young persons and adults with complex disability needs and their families. This post is being recruited to support young adults transitioning from school into adult day services. The successful candidate will be joining the multidisciplinary team in the day and residential services. The candidate will work in partnership with the Service managers in Day Services, clinicians, children and their families, and the staff in the day and residential service teams to support young people with high support needs in relation to their regulations. The Behaviour Support Specialist / Clinical Nurse Specialist (Autism) will provide specialist assessment, intervention, and support to Autistic young people (18 + years) and complex behavioural needs who are transitioning into adult services.
