It provides a range of services to a diverse population covering South County Dublin and County Wicklow. St. Columcille’s Hospital (SCH), is a Model 2 hospital with 116 inpatient Beds, 8 Day Beds, 9 Beds in MAU (Medical Assessment Unit) and 6 in the IU (Injuries Unit). These services include a Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit, Injury Unit, Medical Assessment Unit, acute medical in-patient services, day surgery, outpatient care and diagnostic services. St. Columcille’s Hospital has a national speciality in obesity and also gender management and is a referral centre for bariatric surgery. Reporting Relationship The post holder will report to the Operations/Deputy Hospital Manager or other delegated manager Purpose of the Post This post holder will be responsible for: · The purpose of the Grade VI, Data Analyst is to lead, support and participate in a range of performance monitoring activities, to contribute to the overall improvement of data across the system and to ensure data is reported accurately. · To work as part of a team and provide quality (timely, accurate and easily interpreted) reporting & business intelligence services for St Columcille’s Hospital · To collect, analyse, interpret data and business information in relation to St Columcille’s Hospital and provide all relevant stakeholders with ongoing timely reports, analysis and business intelligence around same Principal Duties & Responsibilities The position of Grade VI Data Analyst encompasses both managerial and administrative responsibilities which include the following: Data & Information Management · To demonstrate the ability to confidently navigate and utilise multiple systems. Capability of extracting, analysing, and presenting data to support activity reporting and statistical requirements in line with HSE standards. · To design and produce reports and briefings in such formats as agreed with the General and Operations manager. · Leading, preparing and presenting performance dashboards. · Where monitoring systems are currently in place, to supervise the timely and accurate delivery of performance data in line with the format and required timescales. This includes both routine and periodic information returns. · Where no or little information currently exist, to develop performance monitoring systems, procedures and practices to enable the Executive Management Team to monitor activity effectively. · To be responsible for the production of monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc hospital reports and information profiles. · Develop a detailed understanding of the hospital data flows and processes · Work with and provide reporting skills and advice for various hospital committees · Provide reports that are easy to interpret including dashboards and other forms of visualisation · Develop a detailed understanding of Data Sets, Data Standards and Data Fields of key systems to support provision of quality information reporting · Automate production of reports · Train users in the operation of reporting systems through the development of suitable reporting systems. · Provide ongoing user and management support and advice. · Investigation and analysis of work procedures and practices. · Produce and maintain documentation. · Meet the reporting requirements of key stakeholders including the General Manager, Executive Management team, and also various staff who get regular reports at national level · To work independently with service providers to improve and enhance both the quality of performance data to meet the needs of regional reporting structure. Data Analyst (Grade VI) Terms and Conditions of Employment Tenure The current vacancy available is permanent and whole time. The post is pensionable. A panel may be created from which permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part time duration may be filled. The tenure of these posts will be indicated at “expression of interest” stage. Appointment as an employee of the Health Service Executive is governed by the Health Act 2004, the Public Service Management (Recruitment and Appointments) Act 2004, and Public Service Management (Recruitment and Appointments) Amendment Act 2013. Remuneration The Salary scale for the post is: (as at 01/02/2026) €57,898, €59,278, €60,963, €64,126, €66,017, €68,372, €70,734 LSIs New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale. Community Healthcare Services are the broad range of services in a non-acute hospital setting, delivered as close as possible to people’s homes at the right time, in the right Place, by the right team. There are 70 Primary Care Centres in the Region and specialist teams working in Mental Health, Health and Wellbeing, Social Care and Disability Services. Services are provided in various settings including the service user’s own home, day hospitals, community nursing units, hostels, specialist day care centres, training centres, respite care, and residential services. The region is served by 11 hospitals and the services delivered include inpatient scheduled care, unscheduled/emergency care, maternity services, outpatient and diagnostic services. St. Columcille’s Hospital is a level 2 hospital. It is committed to providing a quality, patient focused service in a way that meets all patient needs in an equitable, efficient and safe manner. The hospital has a total of 115 inpatient beds, along with specialized units, including: Ortho rehabilitation Stroke Rehabilitation 4 beds dedicated to the Centre of Obesity Management programme, A 7-bed Day Surgical Unit, A 9-bed Medical Assessment Unit, and A 6-bed Local Injuries Unit. Services provided at SCH are: MAU/LIU Radiology General Medicine including Gastroenterology, Gerontology, Respiratory Medicine, Endocrinology and Cardiology Minor Day Surgery Out-Patient Services including Pain Management Services, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Day Hospital for the Older person, Memory Technology & Resource Suite, National Centre for Obesity Management National Gender service The Hospital also provides Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Cardiac Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Services. The stroke rehabilitation unit is on St. Brigids Ward and is for the patients of St. Columcille’s Hospital (SCH) who are Admitted from our MAU or transferred from St. Vincents University Hospital Stroke Rehabilitation Team and has a 0.5 WTE senior assigned to this unit. The ortho rehabilitation unit is located in St Annes Ward and receives surgical orthopaedic patients from SVUH under the care of the ortho geriatricians that work across the 2 sites. Due to the age cohort of the population, there is a large proportion of patients that present with Parkinson’s Disease. These patients are not cohorted on a ward and under any specific team The person appointed to this post will: - · Work as a 1 WTE Senior Physiotherapist in the SCH to provide senior level decision making ensuring Best Practice Physiotherapy for the Rehabilitation of Inpatients of St. Columcilles, mainly Orthopaedic rehab · Be responsible for and coordinate the Physiotherapy Service, for the 12 bedded Ortho Geriatric rehabilitation unit on St. Annes Ward. · Work closely with the Annes Ward multidisciplinary team and the Physiotherapy Inpatient team to ensure an evidence based effective Physiotherapy Service to the Patients within SCH · Be responsible for the physiotherapy supervision of the Physiotherapy Assistant. · Provide physiotherapy assessment, treatment, discharge planning and onward appropriate referrals for patients who attend · Provide evidence-based assessment, treatment and management and rehabilitation of patients with diagnoses including Parkinsons and Vestibular problems, · Cover for Stroke rehabilitation and older person seniors if the urgent need arises · Supervision of a staff grade working on the wards · Assist the other Senior Physiotherapists in the running the inpatient service and Older persons services Reporting Relationship The post holder will report to the Physiotherapy Manager at St. Columcille’s Hospital. The professional reporting relationship for clinical governance will be through the professional line management structure in the SCH Peer supervision from the other Senior Physiotherapists in older persons services and inpatients, and Supervision/PDP/Clinical Governance from Line Manager – Physiotherapy Manager Purpose of the Post · To be responsible for the provision of a high quality, evidence-based Physiotherapy Rehabilitation service including the ortho Geriatric Rehabilitation unit in accordance with standards of professional practice · To work in conjunction with other team members in setting up, co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the population it serves in line with the objectives of the organisation · To ensure the co-ordination, development and delivery of a quality, client centred physiotherapy service to the Inpatients of SCH especially in the Ortho rehabilitation unit · To carry out clinical and educational duties as required ie to carry out clinical supervision of the staff grade physiotherapists who rotate onto the wards and education of colleagues in all physiotherapy aspects of Physiotherapy Rehabilitation including Orthopaedics · To be responsible for the supervision of UCD and TCD Students while on placement here on the wards in SCH as we are a tutor site for TCD and UCD students · To analyse and submit section above · Join the weekend Respiratory Physiotherapy Service on a rota basis Principal Duties and Responsibilities Professional / Clinical The Senior Physiotherapist will: · Communicate and work in co-operation with the SCH staff in providing an integrated quality physiotherapy service, taking the lead role as required · Be a lead clinician in assigned, allocated clinical areas of responsibility and carry a clinical caseload appropriate to the post · Take a lead role in service set up and development as relevant to the role · Be responsible for client assessment, development and implementation of individualised treatment plans that are client centred and in line with best practice · Be responsible for goal setting in partnership with client, family and other team members The Senior Physiotherapist will: · Contribute to the service planning process · Assist SCH and relevant others in service development encompassing policy development and implementation · Review and evaluate the Physiotherapy service regularly, identifying changing needs and opportunities to improve services · Collect and evaluate data about the service area as identified in service plans and demonstrate the achievement of the objectives of the service · Oversee the upkeep of accurate records in line with best practice · Collate and maintain accurate statistics and render reports as required · Represent the team at meetings and conferences as appropriate · Inform the line manager of staff issues (needs, interests, views) as appropriate · Promote a culture that values diversity SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST Terms and Conditions of Employment Tenure The current vacancy available is Permanent and Full time 1 WTE post (35 hours per week). The post is pensionable. A panel may be created from which permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part time duration in the speciality may be filled. The tenure of these posts will be indicated at “expression of interest” stage.
