Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer Above the Bar in Statistical Science (Specific purpose contract circa 3 years, Part-time 0.30 FTE) in the Discipline of Statistics at NUI Galway. NUI Galway holds a strong international reputation in Statistical Science and in translating this research into high quality teaching programmes. Academics in the Discipline have a strong track record of teaching and research in topics including statistical modelling, biostatistics, sports analytics and data science. The School includes members of the Data Science Institute (DSI) and the associated Insight SFI Centre for Data Analytics which has a strong international reputation in data science. We are seeking to recruit a talented and committed Lecturer in Statistical Science for teaching, research and service. The successful candidate will contribute to curriculum and course design, preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, project supervision and general examination and other assessment responsibilities in the area of statistics/data science. They will engage in research and other creative and scholarly activity in statistical science and participate in academic administration within the University and wider community regionally, nationally and internationally.
