Overview of the Post: The post holder will be responsible for the provision of dietetic services to children referred into the service, including nutritional counselling and clinical nutrition support for those with complex disabilities and complex feeding issues. Working as part of interdisciplinary teams supporting children across the 4 Dublin South CDNTs, the post holder will support the nutritional management of children with low weight, complex feeding difficulties, rare neurodevelopmental conditions, and those requiring specialised nutritional support. The post holder will act as a positive and supportive team leader in their specialism, using their clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist support and advice to colleagues to support the development of their knowledge and skills, whilst maintaining a clinical caseload across the Children’s Disability Network Teams. The post holder will also participate in ongoing audit and appropriate work-related research/evaluation projects in areas relevant to their clinical field. The RANP demonstrates advanced clinical and theoretical knowledge, critical thinking, clinical leadership and complex decision-making abilities. The RANP practices in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics for Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (NMBI 2014), the Scope of Nursing and Midwifery Practice Framework (NMBI 2015), Advanced Practice (Nursing) Standards and Requirements (NMBI 2017), and the Values for Nurses and Midwives in Ireland (Department of Health 2016), codes of practice Mental Health Commission and other appropriate and required PPPGs. The RANP service provides clinical leadership and professional scholarship in the delivery of optimal nursing services and informs the development of evidence-based health policy at local, regional and national levels.
