Support Worker
CORLANN –WEST POST: LOCUM RELIEF SUPPORT WORKERS Job Ref: 100975 Location: Curlew Services: Boyle & Frenchpark areas Staff allocation could be either within residential/respite/day settings or in community services or in an individual’s own home. The appointee will initially commence working in one particular area of the service and this work location may change due to future service needs. The Role: Support Workers provide a key-working supportive role for individuals supported by the service. The Support Worker role is to support the person in all aspects of daily living focusing on the individual’s ability and promoting independence and development of skills at all times. The Support Worker will assist and support people who use the service with development of their individual person centred plans and the achievement of personal outcomes, and critically, to support people who use the service in participating in the ordinary everyday life of the community through inclusive and creative thinking. The Support Worker is also responsible for all aspects of personal care required during the day. This includes meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being. Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Working Hours: Up to 39 hours per week based on a 7 day/night duty roster. Successful candidates will be called if and when required and will be required to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, public holidays, night duty, sleep-ins and irregular in order to meet service demands. Corlann model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. Annual Leave: 23 days per annum (pro-rata for part-time), i.e. 8.46 hours per 100 hours worked. Remuneration: Department of Health salary scales apply as at 01/06/2026: €34,881 x 11 increments - €47,624 per annum (pro-rata for part-time). A Long Service Increment €48,434 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. Additional payments will be made for weekends, public holidays, sleep-ins and night-duty when worked. Salary quoted is based on a 39 hour working week. CORLANN– WEST REGION PERMANENT PART-TIME SUPPORT WORKER X2 SPRAOI CHILDREN’S RESPITE SERVICE JOB REF: 100653 A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Support Worker appointments within the Children’s Respite Service may be made over the next 6 months. The Role: Support Workers provide a key-working supportive role to children. This role comprises of two main elements. Firstly, the Support Worker is responsible for all aspects of personal care required by the individual child. This includes supporting children with their meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being, to the extent required by the individual. Secondly, a major focus of the Support Worker role is to assist and support the child through the development of Individual Plan’s and the achievement of associated outcomes, and critically, to support children in participating in the ordinary everyday life of the community through inclusive and creative thinking. Location: Roscommon Children’s Respite Service provides respite services to children from 6 up to 18 years of age who have a wide range of needs including those with Autism, physical, and complex medical needs and behavioural needs. Initial assignment to Spraoi service initially based in the Roscommon town area. Future developments within the services may require that you are prepared to transfer to another work location as the service needs demand. Reporting/Responsible To: Senior Staff/Team Leader/Service Coordinator/Area Manager. Qualifications/Experience/Skills: Working Hours: 2 x 60 hours a fortnight based on a 7 day duty roster. The successful candidates will be required to work a variety of shifts including weekends, public holidays, split duty hours, night duty and sleepover duty to meet service needs. A national non-profit organisation, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is person centred, rights-based and grassroots led with the voice of the person with dementia and their carer at its core. The ASI is currently recruiting a Care Worker who will work in our Roscommon Day Care at Home services. The successful candidate will work in assigned family homes across Co. Roscommon, with offices based in Longford, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, F45 A621. This is a permanent contract working 18-20 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing person centred care to people with dementia in the client's own home. You will need good communication and organisational skills and be able to work on your own initiative. To be successful in this position it is essential you possess previous experience of undertaking social and cognitive stimulation activities with people with dementia, older people or people with intellectual disabilities. Candidates in this area must have a full clean driving licence and access to a car to be considered for this role. A QQI Level 5 is desirable. Confidence in using IT/email is also desirable.
