The holder of the office shall not engage in any gainful occupation, other than as an officer of MSLETB, to such an extent as to impair the performance of his or her duties as an officer of MSLETB or in any occupation which might conflict with the interests of MSLETB or which might be inconsistent with discharge of his or her duties as an MSLETB Officer. Probation The successful candidate shall serve a probationary period in accordance with the terms set out in MSLETB’s Probationary Policy. Salary The salary shall be fully inclusive and shall be as determined from time to time. Holders of the office shall pay to MSLETB any fees or other monies (other than their inclusive salary) payable to or received by them by virtue of their office or in respect of any services which they are required by or under any enactment to perform. Salary Scale as per Circular Letter 0052/2025. Salary scale and entry point on this scale will be determined in accordance with Circulars issued by the Department of Education. Rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government Policy. Annual Leave The annual leave allowance for the position of Clerical Officer is 22 days pro rata. Location/Base The initial location of this position is Mohill Community College, Co Leitrim. Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board reserves the right to assign you to any location or base that is under the control of Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board, as the need arises. Any change in location or base by Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board will not be deemed as redeployment as provided for under the Public Service Agreements. Locum Social Care Worker roles are also available. Location: Curlew Adult Services (Boyle, Ballaghaderreen, Frenchpark Areas). Staff allocation could be either within residential/respite/day settings or in community services or in an individual’s own home. The appointee will initially commence working in one particular area of the Curlew services and this work location may change due to future service needs. The Role: Social Care Workers fulfil a key worker supportive and advocative role for individuals supported by the service. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Duties appropriate to the Multi Task Attendant may vary depending on the care setting, the context of specific ward/areas, relevant training/knowledge required for the role assigned (caring, cleaning, catering). Multi Task Attendants may be required to move between different wards/departments/relief duties and to work across caring, cleaning, catering roles to support service need. In keeping with HIQA and HACCP standards Multi Task Attendants do not move between defined caring, cleaning, catering roles at the same time/ on the same day/ shift. (Except in exceptional circumstances) The Multi Task Attendant role involves: ·         Caring - to assist with the delivery of direct and indirect care and activities of daily living for patients/ residents/ service users under the supervision and direction of nursing or other professional staff/designated manager. ·         Cleaning - Attending to designated housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, waste management duties in the context of the specific service area in line with national and locally devised policies and standards. ·         Catering - When directed be responsible for the preparation, distribution and serving of food and delivery of catering services to patients/ residents/ service users/central catering facilities, in line with national and locally devised policies and standards. The tenure of these posts will be indicated at “expression of interest” stage.   Appointment as an employee of the Health Service Executive is governed by the Health Act 2004, the Public Service Management (Recruitment and Appointments) Act 2004, and Public Service Management (Recruitment and Appointments) Amendment Act 2013.   Remuneration The salary scale for the post is: (1/3/25) €35,434 €36,883 €38,410 €38,816 €39,813 €40,675 €41,917 €43,204 €44,539 New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale. Incremental credit will be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011). Incremental credit is normally granted on appointment, in respect of previous experience in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Health Service and other Public Service Bodies and Statutory Agencies. Annual leave The annual leave associated with the post will be confirmed at Contracting stage. Superannuation This is a pensionable position with the HSE. The successful candidate will upon appointment become a member of the appropriate pension scheme. Pension scheme membership will be notified within the contract of employment. Members of pre-existing pension schemes who transferred to the HSE on the 01st January 2005 pursuant to Section 60 of the Health Act 2004 are entitled to superannuation benefit terms under the HSE Scheme which are no less favourable to those which they were entitled to at 31st December 2004 Age The Public Service Superannuation (Age of Retirement) Act, 2018* set 70 years as the compulsory retirement age for public servants. * Public Servants not affected by this legislation: Public servants joining the public service or re-joining the public service with a 26-week break in service, between 1 April 2004 and 31 December 2012 (new entrants) have no compulsory retirement age. Public servants, joining the public service or re-joining the public service after a 26 week break, after 1 January 2013 are members of the Single Pension Scheme and have a compulsory retirement age of 70. Probation Every appointment of a person who is not already a permanent officer of the Health Service Executive or of a Local Authority shall be subject to a probationary period of 12 months as stipulated in the Department of Health Circular No.10/71. Protection of children guidance and legislation The welfare and protection of children is the responsibility of all HSE staff. You must be aware of and understand your specific responsibilities under the Children First Act 2015, the Protections for Persons Reporting Child Abuse Act 1998 in accordance with Section 2, Children First National Guidance and other relevant child safeguarding legislation and policies. Some staff have additional responsibilities such as Line Managers, Designated Officers and Mandated Persons. In the HSE, all Mandated Persons under the Children First Act 2015 are appointed as Designated Officers under the Protections for Persons Reporting Child Abuse Act 1998. You should check Schedule 2 of the Children First Act 2015 to see if you are a Mandated Person, and therefore a HSE Designated Officer, and be familiar with the related roles and legal responsibilities. Infection control Have a working knowledge of Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards as they apply to the role for example, Standards for Healthcare, National Standards for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associated Infections, Hygiene Standards etc. and comply with associated HSE protocols for implementing and maintaining these standards as appropriate to the role.
