Locations: Longford &amp; Athlone Contract: Part time; 2–4 days per week, with flexibility to manage your hours responsibly around community needs Working pattern: Mix of infield community work and remote homebased hours Hourly rate: €14.15 + performance related bonus Specsavers is built on community spirit, genuine care, and the belief that everyone deserves access to better sight and hearing. We’re looking for a confident, outgoing Community Champion to represent our Longford and Athlone stores — someone who thrives on meeting people, building relationships, and bringing our values to life across both communities. What you’ll be doing <ul><li>Building strong connections with local groups, schools, charities, and organisations.</li><li>Planning and delivering community events, health awareness activities, and outreach programmes.</li><li>Acting as a warm, proactive ambassador for both stores — someone who enjoys starting conversations and opening doors.</li><li>Identifying opportunities to raise awareness of eye and hearing health and turning those opportunities into meaningful action.</li><li>Creating engaging stories and updates for social media and local press to highlight your community impact.</li><li>Supporting the instore teams by bringing in new partnerships and engagement opportunities.</li><li>Splitting your time between infield community visits and remote homebased planning, follow-up, and communication.</li><li>Travelling between Longford and Athlone as part of your weekly routine. </li></ul>What we’re looking for <ul><li>A natural communicator who's confident approaching new people and building rapport quickly. </li><li>Someone who enjoys being out in the community and is equally comfortable working independently from home.</li><li>A self-starter who’s motivated, persistent, and comfortable taking the lead on outreach activities.</li><li>Strong communication skills — both face-to-face and over the phone — with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences.</li><li>Resilience, enthusiasm, and the drive to keep going even when plans change or challenges pop up.</li><li>Solid organisational skills to manage multiple projects across two locations.</li><li>A full driving licence, as travel between Longford and Athlone is essential. </li></ul>What you’ll get from us <ul><li>€14.15 per hour, plus a performance related bonus. </li><li>A supportive team that values your ideas, energy, and initiative.</li><li>The chance to shape meaningful community programmes that genuinely make a difference.</li><li>Training and development to help you grow your skills and confidence.</li><li>A role where every day brings new people, new conversations, and new opportunities. </li></ul>
