Location: Cregoran Services is a progressive, dynamic and developing service located in and around Claregalway, Co. Galway. Cregoran provides a variety of residential, day and respite services to adults with intellectual disabilities who have very high support needs, grounded in the use of personal outcome measures. We work to form genuine relationships and partnerships with each person we support and those closest to them. We aim to support people to participate in the everyday life of their community, to have ordinary life experiences, and to create opportunities for the people we support to form real friendships. The Role: Minibus Driver/Porter Reporting/Responsible To: Service Coordinator/Area Manager Qualifications/Experience: · Candidates must have received a good general education and hold a full clean Driver’s Licence – Class D1 is an advantage. · Candidates must have completed their CPC examinations/modules and must hold the CPC Qualification Card. This must be produced and checked at the interview. · The successful candidate must have adequate training and driving experience to enable them to carry out satisfactorily the duties of the post and ideally have some experience of working with people with an intellectual disability. · Experience in general maintenance provision is an advantage. Working Hours: 50 hours a fortnight based on a 5 day week duty roster. Contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 7am - 7pm to meet Service needs. You may also be required to work weekends and public holidays as service needs require. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. Annual Leave: 22 days pro rata per annum. Remuneration: Department of Health Driver (Patients Public Roads) salary scale (01/03/2025) - €35,434 x 8 increments to €44,539 pro rata per annum. Tenure: This post is permanent part-time and pensionable. Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion. Driving Assessment: Applicants may be required to undergo a Minibus Driving assessment by an Assessor nominated by the Brothers of Charity Services JOB DESCRIPTION The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible both in their approach and their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
