Overall Purpose of the Post<ul><li>To maximise sales and profit and assist in managing the shops in a commercial manner</li><li>To support the Shop Manager in day-to-day operations</li><li>Be an advocate for sustainable living and Enable Ireland’s values in the local community</li><li>Be a champion of reuse</li><li>Help meet financial targets while keeping sustainability and style at the heart of the shops</li></ul>Duties<ul><li>Assist in the management and development of the shop in the context of an agreed work plan and agreed financial targets</li><li>Assist in training and supervision of shops staff, both paid and voluntary</li><li>Assist in the management, motivation, delegation and organisation of staff</li><li>Assist and support other Enable Ireland shops if and when required</li><li>Source high quality stock</li><li>Ensure there are adequate staffing levels in the shops at all times</li><li>Ensure the appearance of the shops internally and externally is attractive to customers and in line with brand standards</li><li>Assist in stock merchandising, its security and its preparation for sale and display</li><li>Assist in maintaining accurate management and information systems</li><li>Ensure the shops are stocked with adequate information and leaflets on Enable Ireland services, staff are briefed accordingly</li><li>Deal appropriately and sensitively with queries about Enable Ireland services</li><li>Assist in full implementation of Enable Ireland Health &amp; Safety policy in the shops</li><li>Be vigilant and comply with any Health &amp; Safety and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of your line manager</li><li>Assist in participating in the efficient flow of information within the organisation by sharing and seeking information as appropriate</li><li>Undertake other duties as requested by the line manager from time to time</li><li>Undertake your work in a manner that is friendly, flexible and informal</li></ul>GDPR compliance: In the course of carrying out the duties of this job and working with others which will include but is not limited to compliance with all Enable Ireland GDPR policies and procedures, attending all GDPR training sessions, ensuring personal responsibility for implementing safeguards and measures as directed, to minimise exposure to breach GDPR.Terms &amp; Conditions<ul><li>Responsible to: Shop Manager</li><li>Probation: A probationary period of 6 months applies, wherein three probationary meetings will take place to review your performance and suitability for appointment. The probationary period may be extended or terminated for any reason at Enable Ireland’s discretion</li><li>Salary: The current salary scale for this part-time post is €17,832.00 per annum. 1% profit share pro-rata</li><li>Annual leave: Annual leave entitlement is 21 days pro rata per annum plus 2 gift days and proportionately less for less than 12 months service</li><li>Pension Scheme: Enable Ireland operates a contributory pension scheme which all employees may join on earlier of 1st July or 1st January following start date</li><li>Medical: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a medical assessment</li><li>Garda Clearance / Police Clearance: These will be required for all prospective employees who will undertake relevant work or activities relating to children or vulnerable persons</li></ul>Sick Pay (if applicable):<ul><li>All periods of sickness exceeding two days must be medically certified</li><li>Weekly medical certificates are required thereafter</li><li>The Company reserves the right to have you examined by its own Doctor after 3 months continuous sick leave</li><li>Upon completion of 6 months continuous service with the Company, sick pay will be as follows:<ul><li>Full pay less social welfare for the first 13 weeks of sickness in any 12 month rolling period</li><li>Half pay less social welfare for a further 13 weeks of sickness absence in the same 12 month rolling period</li></ul></li><li>In exceptional circumstances the organisation reserves the right to redeploy you to an alternative role that is suitable to your skills and experience</li></ul>Qualifications and Experience<ul><li>Retail Experience is essential</li><li>Retail Supervisory Experience</li><li>Ability to Achieve Sales Targets</li><li>Fiscal Management</li><li>Good working knowledge of merchandising</li><li>Eligible to work in the State</li></ul>Organisational and Professional Knowledge<ul><li>Strong financial ability</li><li>Strong understanding of customer focus</li><li>Ability to deal sensitively with queries about Enable Ireland services</li></ul>Core Competencies<ul><li>Excellent interpersonal and sales techniques</li></ul>Leadership:<ul><li>Ability to manage paid staff and volunteers</li><li>Ability to train and motivate a team</li></ul>IT Skills:<ul><li>Proficient in MS Office</li><li>Good IT Skills</li></ul>Special Aptitudes – Communication<ul><li>Strong negotiating skills</li><li>Good IT Skills</li></ul>
