BROTHERS OF CHARITY SERVICES IRELAND – WEST REGION PERMANENT PART-TIME DRIVER/PORTER CREGORAN COMMUNITY SERVICES, CLAREGALWAY, CO. GALWAY JOB REF: 82437 A panel maybe formed from this competition from which subsequent Driver/Porter posts for the Cregoran Services may be filled within the next 6 months. Location: Cregoran Services is a progressive, dynamic and developing service located in and around Claregalway, Co. Galway. Cregoran provides a variety of residential, day and respite services to adults with intellectual disabilities who have very high support needs, grounded in the use of personal outcome measures. We work to form genuine relationships and partnerships with each person we support and those closest to them. We aim to support people to participate in the everyday life of their community, to have ordinary life experiences, and to create opportunities for the people we support to form real friendships. The Role: Minibus Driver/Porter Reporting/Responsible To: Service Coordinator/Area Manager Qualifications/Experience: • Candidates must have received a good general education and hold a full clean Driver’s Licence – Class D1 is an advantage. • Candidates must have completed their CPC examinations/modules and must hold the CPC Qualification Card. This must be produced and checked at the interview. • The successful candidate must have adequate training and driving experience to enable them to carry out satisfactorily the duties of the post and ideally have some experience of working with people with an intellectual disability. • Experience in general maintenance provision is an advantage. Working Hours: 50 hours a fortnight based on a 5 day week duty roster. Contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 7am - 7pm to meet Service needs. You may also be required to work weekends and public holidays as service needs require. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. Annual Leave: 22 days pro rata per annum. Remuneration: Department of Health Driver (Patients Public Roads) salary scale (01/03/2025) - €35,434 x 8 increments to €44,539 pro rata per annum. Tenure: This post is permanent part-time and pensionable. Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion. Senior Radiographer

Our Service - BreastCheck (The National Breast Screening Programme) BreastCheck – The National Breast Screening Programme - plays a central role in diagnosis and management of breast cancer in Ireland, providing free mammograms every two years to women aged 50 to 69. Survival has improved because of screening, symptomatic detection and improved treatment options. As a Mammographer, you will be closely involved with both the quality of the outcome of the service and each woman’s satisfaction with the service. We offer both Full-time and part-time opportunities. Consideration will be given to flexible working arrangements. We are currently accepting applications from suitably qualified candidates for our 4 units in Cork, Dublin & Galway. BreastCheck has 4 screening units in hospitals and 24 mobile clinics across the country. Life as a Mammographer (Senior Radiographer) You'll be part of a multidisciplinary breast screening team and be responsible for the monitoring and quality assurance tests for specialist mammography equipment to ensure that it's used safely within set parameters. Mammographers play an important part in early cancer detection by producing high-quality mammograms to identify signs of cancer. How to become a Mammographer (Senior Radiographer) Mammographers are CORU-registered Radiographers with 3 years full-time (or an aggregate of 3 years) post-qualification clinical experience. PostGraduate Mammography Qualification: Radiographers in BreastCheck will hold or be in training for a recognised postgraduate qualification in mammography and will achieve the award within one year of taking up a post with the programme. Appointed candidates must undertake a 1-year specialist Post-Graduate Qualification in Mammography if they are not currently in receipt of this qualification. Training will be supported and financed by National Screening Service . The aims of a specific course of study in mammography are to develop a high level of practical expertise in mammography; a sound theoretical knowledge of breast imaging, diagnosis and treatment; and critical evaluation and judgement skills. These outcomes will enable the radiographer to become a skilled practitioner of mammographic technique and an active member of the multidisciplinary team. Important to Note: Mammography (MSc) - Entry requirements - Please note for International Candidates: You will be required to provide evidence of English language competence at IELTS 7 (no less than 6.5 in any element) or equivalent.
