Job Summary The postholder will provide a customer support service, and supervise the customer support services provided by others, to individual and group patrons of Council’s Recreational Facilities, to help ensure visitor comfort, safety and enjoyment. This includes supervision of staff and of activity and ancillary areas, lifeguarding and cleaning and upkeep of facilities and equipment as required. As National Pool Lifeguard Trainer Assessors, postholders are responsible for the delivery of lifeguard qualification training for all relevant staff (ie wet side lifeguards, supervisors, swimming teachers) and maintenance of qualification programme in order to retain NMDDC accreditation as a Institute of Qualified Lifeguards Approved Training Centre.  Duration of Appointment Permanent. Location Location is Down Leisure Centre, Downpatrick. The post holder may be required to transfer to other locations in accordance with any requirements stated in the Job Description, any reviews of service delivery or other requirements as may arise from time to time. Salary Range: £19,184 / £12.21 per hour About Us: This role is all about helping to make a difference through retail. As part of the Northern Ireland Hospice team, you’ll play a key role in driving sales, managing stock, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our shop. You’ll help keep the shop looking its best, make sure donations are well-presented, and provide a warm, welcoming experience for customers and donors alike. Accuracy in cash handling and completing routine admin tasks will also be part of your day-to-day work. Part of this role involves working with and supporting volunteers and helping to recruit, train, and motivate a great team who share a passion for our cause. You’ll contribute to a positive, community-focused atmosphere where everyone enjoys making a difference together. Administration: • Adhere to cash handling procedures, promptly depositing generated cash at the bank to minimise the risk of loss. • Complete all relevant administration tasks, including daily banking, within agreed timescales. • Ensure the shop's physical and operational security, implementing necessary measures. • Contribute to the recruitment and selection of shop volunteers. • Provide effective training to volunteers, ensuring they are well-equipped for their roles.
