We wish to create opportunities for people with an intellectual disability to have valued social roles in their communities and to have the chance to form real friendships. In order to assist us to achieve this vision we wish to recruit innovative and proactive people who will relish the opportunity to assist in implementing this vision. Under the National programme for Progressing Disability Services for children (PDS), children’s disability network teams were formed nationwide. In Cork and Kerry there is a partnership arrangement to develop these teams between the HSE and agencies currently delivering services for children with disabilities (COPE, St. Joseph’s, Co-action, Brothers of Charity, Enable Ireland). JOB SUMMARY The person/s appointed to this post will work as part of inter-disciplinary team delivering a coordinated approach to children/young people from 0-18 years across all disabilities which includes intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities sensory/motor disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders. She/he will be required to work as a key worker for particular cases. The reporting relationship is to the Children Disability Network Managers. Clinical governance and Clinical supervision will be provided by the Head of Department. The Social Workers will ultimately be responsible to the Director of Services. The Social Workers will work in conjunction with other team members in a senior role co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the service user group and the objectives of the organisation and the Kerry Intervention & Disability Services. The Social Workers will be responsible for the provision of a high quality service and will carry out Social Work duties as required. The Candidate: Professional Qualifications, Experience etc. Eligible applicants will be those on the closing date for the competition: Each candidate for the appointment must Be registered or eligible for registration, on the Social Work Register maintained by the Social Work Registration Board at CORU AND Have a minimum of 3 years’ relevant post qualification experience of working as a Professionally Qualified Social Worker with disability preferable AND Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office AND Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU before a contract can be issued AND Have a full driving licence which qualifies you to drive on Irish roads with means of transport. Annual registration On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU. AND Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC). The Administration Assistant is responsible for leading and enhancing all aspects of the administration processes for all services across Cork by maximising administration efficiency and assisting the team in the service in ensuring the ASI’s clients living with dementia and their families receive the best quality of service and care. These will include the day centre & home support services. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, excellent accuracy, and attention to detail, conscientious and proactive approach to work, ability to understand and respect the need for confidentiality skills and be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. To be successful in this role you will need, to be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). A secretarial/office administration qualification is desirable. Previous experience in a busy office environment and previous experience working with financial information and ECDL is an advantage.
