CNC Machinist / Programmer (Senior Team Role)

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / Programmer with at least 4 years experience to join our team in West Clare. This is a practical hands-on role with added responsibility supporting day-to-day production on the shop floor This position is not a management role, but it does involve taking responsibility for supporting and guiding day-to-day machining activity within the team while remaining fully hands-on with CNC work. Key Responsibilities - Set up and operate CNC machinery to produce components to production schedules and specifications - Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software (e.g. Alphacam, Enroute or similar) - Work closely with the production team to ensure smooth workflow and job prioritisation - Support coordination of daily machining activities on the shop floor - Carry out machine maintenance and troubleshooting as required - Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications - Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet required tolerances and standards - Support continuous improvement in machining processes and efficiency - Maintain accurate records for traceability of fire-rated products - Follow all health & safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment Required Experience & Skills - Strong experience in CNC programming, setting and operating (mills, routers or similar) - Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (Alphacam, Enroute or similar) - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings confidently - Experience with machine troubleshooting and basic maintenance - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality - Good problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment - Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable Skills - Previous experience in wood manufacturing or similar industry - Additional CAD/CAM or CNC programming experience - Experience supporting or guiding others in a workshop setting - Strong communication and organisational skills What We Offer - Stable, full-time permanent role in a growing local business - On-site parking - Competitive salary based on experience - Supportive, practical, team-based working environment - Opportunity to take on a senior shop-floor role while staying hands-on with CNC work Important Note Please note: at this time, we are only considering applicants who are already based in Ireland and eligible to work here.
