Case Worker
Grade Case Worker - £25,726.86 / £14.14 per hour Reporting to Local LMT Contract Permanent Location Foyle Haven, 23A John Street, Derry/Londonderry BT48 6JY Hours Full Time – 35 hours per week (7-day week –afternoons, evenings & weekends) Scope of Responsibility To be a member of a multi-disciplined team using holistic approaches to support Depaul service users. Working to a housing-led, low threshold, harm reduction approach, where service users receive a high degree of support and advice. Depaul has a commitment to service user participation and to empowering our service users to manage their own lives. The aim of the role is to support and signpost service users into services that will improve their housing, health and wellbeing while improving the service users quality of life. This is achieved through the provision of engagement and individualised support plans, targeted interventions, signposting and group work. You will work proactively form strong relationships and gain service users' trust, striving to provide the best possible service levels at all times. Key Areas of Responsibility Service user focus To provide service user support in a person lead manner, which is both professional and respectful. Assess the safety and wellbeing needs of the service user and develop plans which address and reduce identified risks. In partnership with service users, to assess their needs and develop support plans, which are flexible and respond to the changing needs of the service users. To work with service users and relevant external agencies in order to deliver meaningful and effective key working To support service users to integrate with their communities in line with good neighbourhood principals. To advocate on behalf of service users to achieve the best outcomes for them. Provide outreach work within the community based on service delivery needs Health & Safety To ensure that Health and Safety standards are met within the service in accordance with Depaul’s Health and Safety policy and procedures. To undertake assigned duties regarding the overall health and safety and security of the service and utilize available security systems to manage risk relevant to the service. To ensure completion of all relevant wellbeing and health and safety checks Administration & Record Keeping Carry out service administration tasks such as; upkeep of client records, financial transactions, internal and external reports, incident and accident management and other record keeping relevant to the roles. To remain vigilant to IT and cyber risks and comply at all times with Depaul’s IT Security policies. Other duties To be a contributing team player, taking part in handovers, team meetings, core training, the mentoring of Volunteers and supporting other team members in ensuring all decision making is appropriate and consistent To at all times undertake your role in a professional manner maintaining a high quality standard of work in line with Depaul Values and ethos. Person Requirements Qualifications & Experience · A formal Level 3 qualification in a social care field, e.g. diploma in health and social care or equivalent And · At least 2 years paid relevant work experience OR · At least 3 years paid relevant work experience And 3 formal qualifications at Level 2 to include Math and English, e.g. GCSE’s or NVQ Skills · Good working knowledge of risk assessment and risk management processes · Good IT skills, including working knowledge of using IT systems to record client information · Good written and verbal communication skills. · The ability to compile and present accurate written and electronic reports Knowledge · Have an understanding of homelessness and the issues that can lead to homelessness · Have an understanding of what supports can be offered in homeless services to promote positive futures · Have knowledge/experience of working with needs assessment, key working and support planning for service users · Have a knowledge of the statutory and voluntary sector resources available to people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness · Understand the importance for Health and Safety standards in the delivery of services on a day to day basis. · Knowledge of relevant statutory and voluntary agencies and the ability to network/liaise with all relevant bodies · Knowledge and willingness to work within the guidelines of Depaul vision mission and values. Strategic Asset Manager
Responsible for the implementation and delivery of the Council’s Estates Strategy to ensure the Council’s assets are managed and safeguarded in accordance with legislative requirements, governance arrangements, policies, procedures and best practice. As Council’s Asset Management Champion, develop and lead on an Asset Management Plan, in accordance with the Council’s Estates Strategy, to manage and optimise the value derived from land and property assets. Responsible for the establishment of an Asset forum and the performance of the asset base and associated outcomes. Oversee the management of the Councils Asset Register. Oversee the Council’s land and property portfolio, including management of the Land and Property Team, and servicing the Land & Property Sub-Committee. Scheme Supervisor / Caretaker
Key Responsibilities: 1. To work within all relevant Triangle policies and procedures, legislation, best practice and regulation relevant to the role 2. To undertake an agreed schedule of daily and periodic cleaning of designated communal areas to include litter picking across communal areas as required. 3. To ensure all agreed health and safety checks are completed in a timely manner including public liability insurance walk-arounds 4. To conduct periodic testing and visual inspection of the relevant safety equipment such as fire alarm systems, smoke detectors and firefighting equipment as appropriate 5. To maintain agreed systems in relation to keys including acting as a key holder in the event of an emergency if required 6. To oversee and monitor effective operation of the CCTV systems (where installed) 7. To oversee and monitor effective operation of all communal facilities, equipment & services (such as heating, lighting etc) to include changing light bulbs and tubes as required 8. To keep all communal areas free of unwanted waste, rubbish and graffiti 9. To ensure the safe use, storage and maintenance of work equipment such as vacuum cleaners and cleaning replenishing stock as required 10. To report all property maintenance issues/repairs to the Property Services Officer/maintenance department 11. To effectively liaise with Building trades contractors, including the Association’s Measure Term Contractor, arranging access etc as required 12. To undertake any appropriate property maintenance duties such as minor repairs to fixtures, decorating tasks or suchlike 13. To deal with waste collection including leaving out bins as required and maintaining the bin store area 14. Leisure Operative
KEY PURPOSE Responsible for carrying out day to day duties for the service and designated facilities to a high standard whilst adhering to all health, safety, supervision, customer service, and operational procedure, policies and practices. Undertake reception duties as required ensuring a comprehensive customer service at all times. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Supervise users of leisure facilities/services including lifeguarding duties and ensure that customers conduct themselves appropriately and in accordance with the facilities rules, regulations and operational practices. 2. Responsible for completing all designated day to day operational duties of the facility whilst adhering to all procedures, policies and practices. 3. Ensure high levels of cleanliness are maintained throughout all Leisure facilities and the immediate vicinity (including equipment) and carry out regular compliance and monitoring checks and address non-compliance as required ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times. 4. Prepare set ups, dismantle and/or store equipment in the delivery of facility programmed services accordance with standard operating procedures and health and safety obligations. 5. Complete routine inspections of equipment and activity areas, carry out low level maintenance, report any defects and complete relevant administration documentation such as inspection logs as required. 6. Identify potential hazards, log and report all incidents/accidents ensuring in accordance with reporting procedures. 7. Ensure operational areas and/or where applicable public belongings are secure in accordance with specified procedures. 8. Ensure high levels of customer care, deal with customer related queries and be proactive in ensuring customers receive a positive customer experience when using facilities and escalate any queries as required. 9. Undertake reception duties as required ensuring all system booking and cash handling procedures are followed at all times. 10. Participate in and ensure compliance with all Council policies and procedures and operate within the highest standards of personal behaviour which reflect the core values of the organisation. 11. Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety requirements and legislation in accordance with Council’s Policies and Procedures. 12. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a food manufacturing business based in Londonderry/Derry. The successful candidate will be Involved in the various stages of bread, desserts and salad production from receipt, storage, processing and product make up to provide a high service level to the customer.
