Hospital Driver / Health Care Assistant (DUAL ROLE) HOSPITAL HEALTH CARE & DRIVING EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL) Purpose of the Position: The role of the Hospital Driver / Health Care Assistant (DUAL ROLE) is to primarily provide transportation to and from The National Rehabilitation Hospital for non-emergency patients who require a responsive level of care and assistance. The Hospital Driver / Health Care Assistant (DUAL ROLE) will be required to assist in the transportation of goods and services on the campus such as Hospital Records as required; and drive Patient Transport Vehicles including Hospital ambulance as appropriate to the role. The Hospital Driver / Health Care Assistant (DUAL ROLE) will work in the Clinical Units / areas as necessary and if not required to undertake Hospital Driving duties. The post holder will undertake role and responsibilities for this aspect of their role as per NRH Healthcare Assistant Job Description. Education and Qualifications: · Hold a QQI Level 5 qualification or comparable relevant equivalent qualification of at least level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland, (QQI) specifically Health Care Assistant, Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy/ Speech and Language Therapy Assistant. · Manual handling and patient handling training certificate recognised by the National Rehabilitations Hospital or have the ability to attain same. · Full Clean Drivers Licence. · Experience working in a Healthcare Environment. · Demonstrates evidence of experience of working with patients in a Hospital / other HealthCare setting. · Demonstrates evidence of driving experience in a Hospital / other HealthCare setting. *This is a permanent full-time vacancy. VACANCIES: Relief Support Panel in Residential Social Care “ChildVision enhances the lives of children and young people with a visual impairment through specialist supports” ChildVision, the national centre for the education of blind children, based in Drumcondra, Dublin 9, is seeking suitably qualified applicants to provide cover for evening/ sleepover duties within the residential service. The relief workers will be required to assist our children and young people in their day-to-day life, including getting ready for school/college/day service, activities of daily living, meal preparation, social activities. andnight time sleep overs. The relief support panel is a designed to fill vacancies due to staff absence but members of the panel will never work alone or unsupported by a permanent, experienced, staff member. Applicants should hold or be working towards a Level 6/7 or above degree, in a relevant subject area. Some experience working with people with a Multiple disbailities and/or visual impairment would be desirable, but not necessary, as induction and trainning will be provided.
