In order to progress the implementation of the Strategy, the Council is seeking to recruit an Arts Development Officer. This will ensure that the Council has in place a suitably qualified staff member who will progress the strategy, monitor the implementation and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Arts Development Officer will report to the Arts Officer of Galway City Council. Duties and Responsibilities The key duties and responsibilities of the post of the Arts Development Officer will include (but are not limited to) progressing key actions within Galway City Councils Arts Strategy: Knowledge of current local government issues and advocate practice approaches to addressing them. Clear and realistic views of future trends and strategic direction of local government. Understanding the role of the Arts Development Officer in this context. Principal Conditions Of Service Type of Post  Future relevant permanent and temporary posts will be filled from the panel(s) formed.
