The Role: The Environmental Regulation function is responsible for the day-to-day management of environmental regulation and compliance. The function monitors the compliance of the water and wastewater network, and treatment works, influences external environmental policy and manages environmental stakeholder relationships. Environmental Regulation provides expertise to the Uisce Eireann business on influencing environmental policy and managing stakeholders around environmental regulation affecting Uisce Eireann’s practices. The function provides regulatory expertise to the business, including the Senior Leadership Team, in all aspects of environmental regulation. The team provides support on legislative and regulatory changes that will affect Uisce Eireann policies in the future. Reporting to the Regional Drinking Water Compliance Manager, The Drinking and Wastewater Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of drinking water and the safe discharge of wastewaters to the environment by supporting the regional drinking water and wastewater compliance regional teams Main Duties and Responsibilities: • Support the development and maintenance of National Sampling Plans. • Responsible for tracking delivery of the National Sampling Plan and liaising with Regional Teams to facilitate further decision making. • Liaise with the Compliance team to identify specific system development requirements. • Act as the technical point of contact for IT business analysts and developers. Undertake User Acceptance Testing of systems throughout development. • Assist in the development and maintenance of advanced data analysis solutions to facilitate compliance data management and reporting requirements. • Review Compliance monitoring data, incidents, compliance investigations, EPA Files and complaint data and support the HQ and Regional teams by undertaking trend analysis, reporting, and liaison to facilitate follow up activities. • Support national reporting arrangements with respect to compliance programmes, environmental assessments, annual environmental reports, the Remedial Action List and Wastewater Priority Areas List. • Review the performance of existing data analysis and reporting systems, identify and implement appropriate improvements. • Interact frequently with key internal stakeholders to ensure cross functional understanding and alignment of key Compliance priorities. • Provide regular progress updates to the Reporting Specialists. • Contribute to achieving the objectives and targets of the Environmental Regulation Team Plan, and the Uisce Éireann Business Plan. • Generate outputs in the form or Reports, Instructions, Templates, Standard Operating Procedures etc. in standardised and consistent formats that convey data and decisions in a systematic manner. • Ensure systems capture and align with emerging needs of the business and provide information and direction to stakeholders based on the generated outputs of the system. • Support the generation of national monthly compliance metrics, KPIs, and statistics. • Provide information and data in a high quality format to other functions and departments as required to support their needs. General Duties and Responsibilities • Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business • Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards • Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives • Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation • Other duties as required Knowledge, Skills and Experience: • Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable and or relevant experience • A minimum of 1 years’ Experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable • Strong computer skills with a proficient working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook • Ability to analyse customer needs and provide support to resolve issues • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and look for different perspectives • Track record of striving for quality and ensuring consistently high standards of work • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey messages in a clear and concise manner • Ability to set up ongoing processes and procedure to collect and review information • Track record of complying with safety objectives and policies and encouraging others to do the same CLICK THE APPLY BUTTON TO GO TO THEIR CAREERS PAGE WHERE YOU CAN CHECK THIS JOB AND ALL OTHER OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE
