Services covered: - Older People Services are provided at the front door by Home First (Emergency Medicine and AMAU) and in the in-patient wards by the Older Persons Assessment Liaison services –OPAL- - Acute Stroke - General Medicine (MUH & St John’s Unit) - General Surgery including. ICU/CCU - Orthopaedics (Trauma, Elective and hand Therapy). The Senior clinician will be initially appointed to a particular area but they may need to cross cover to other areas in MUH/ St John’s when required; (S)he will aim to provide client centred OT interventions to enable participation and engagement in activities of daily living during admission and after discharge. This will be achieved by engaging the attendances or in -patients in the occupational task(s) that they want to, need to or are expected to do or by modifying the occupation or the environment to better support their occupational engagement. Safety, quality of the service experience and supportive discharge planning will be the key priorities of any the therapeutic interventions provided.
