Applications are invited for the following post SENIOR SOCIAL WORKER – REF: 61/2025 Permanent Full-Time (35 hours per week) Adult Social Work Services, Cork The Role The Senior Social Worker will work as part of the Social Work Team for Adult Services Team within the Brothers of Charity Southern Services. The role of senior social worker in Adult Services is to support persons supported to have opportunities for self-expression and their needs met in all aspects of their lives. Social Work strives to empower people with an intellectual disability to have dignifying relationships and to be included meaningfully in the life of their communities. The senior social worker will be involved in both a multidiscipline and uni-discipline approach to assessing the needs and supporting persons with disability in residential and day services, as well as mentoring and supervision to Social Workers. The post holder will have the following qualifications, experience, skills and abilities: - The Candidate: Professional Qualifications, Experience etc. Eligible applicants will be those on the closing date for the competition: Each candidate for the appointment must Be registered or eligible for registration, on the Social Work Register maintained by the Social Work Registration Board at CORU AND Have 3 years relevant post-qualification experience in disability or working within a Multidiscipline team AND Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office AND Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU before a contract can be issued AND Proven effectiveness as a professional Social Worker 2. As a Senior Physiotherapist, you will work in line with the team’s service plans and objectives, while adhering to established professional standards, guidelines, and policies. In this role, you will provide assessment and intervention within the framework of the Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT), delivering therapeutic services to children and young people (0–18 years) with a range of complex needs arising from disability. Services are provided to families living in Crumlin, Drimnagh, Parnell Road, and parts of Kimmage, Harold’s Cross, and Walkinstown. Our approach is rooted in child- and family-centred practice, with support delivered across clinic, school, home, and community settings. Interventions may be universal, targeted, or individualised, with a strong emphasis on evidence-informed practice and the implementation of national and professional CDNT guidelines. The team covers a small geographical area, many families are within walking distance, allowing for close community connections and accessible service delivery. We work in a spacious building with ample parking for those who drive. The interdisciplinary team includes Physiotherapy, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Social Work, and Therapy Assistants.
