Transport Planner
Dungarvan Transport is a leading haulage and logistics provider in Ireland. We are currently seeking a highly organized person to join our office team as a Transport Planner. Our fleet consists of over 70 trucks with customers including Pharma, Dairy, Bulk liquids, and Containers imports/exports. As a Transport Planner, you will lead the day-to-day coordination of a section of our haulage fleet. You will be responsible for balancing driver schedules, and ensuring maximum fleet utilization. This is a dynamic role that requires a calm head under pressure, and excellent communication skills. We are a 5 day a week operation working in the office and one in every 6 weekend working from home. Responsibilities: Driver Scheduling: Assign daily workloads, collections, and deliveries to drivers while monitoring live progress aligned to daily customer requirements. Compliance: Oversee driver tachograph hours, routes working time directives Maintenance Coordination: Liaise with the garage to schedule routine servicing, CVRTS, and repairs with minimal disruption to the haulage business. Customer Excellence: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing proactive delivery updates and resolving issues swiftly. System Management: Maintain accurate real-time data within our Transport Management System (TMS). Requirements : Industry Knowledge: Basic knowledge of trucks and driver hours, compliance regulations, and national geography.
