Location : 61 Largy Road, Crumlin, Co Antrim, BT29 4RR. Contract Offered : Full-time, Permanent Working Hours / Shifts : 40 hours per week, 7.40am to 6.10pm, Monday to Thursday. What does this team do? Molecular Microbiology is a division of the Molecular R&D Department which provides quantifiable microbiological standards and controls for the development and QC of all molecular microbiology based assays such as those for infectious diseases. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship at the point of hire. What does this involve? This role is responsible for the day to day supervision of the Molecular Microbiology lab, resources and staff involved in the provision and development of microbiological controls for use in Molecular arrays. The main duties of the role include: • Ensure smooth and efficient running of the Molecular Microbiology section overseeing a team of two microbiologists. • The development of expertise within a given project. • Ensure the team meet time and output targets for supply of material to established R&D projects. • Ensuring that all members of the team are performing optimally according to their level. • The design and implementation of experimental work within the Departmental ISO framework. • The maintaining of records covering all experimental work. • Ensure staff are trained in line with appropriate standards and regulations. • Perform a broad range of microbiological tests and procedures according to standard operating procedures. • Isolate and maintain cultures of bacteria / other microorganisms for R&D & commercial use. • Identify and classify microorganisms found in specimens collected from human samples using both microbiological and molecular methods. • Effectively manage a busy production laboratory. Who can apply? Essential criteria : • A bachelors degree in a microbiological discipline. • Previous experience in a R&D or commercial microbiology laboratory. • Excellent communication and organisation skills Desirable: • Experience in a lead role within R&D. • Postgraduate qualification in Microbiology. • Strong leadership skills. • Experience in staff management.

What does the Technical Support team do? Our technical support team sits within our customer services department and supports a large network of both internal and external customers. With expertise on Randox’s range of quality control material, reagents and clinical chemistry analysers, along with bespoke interlaboratory data management software, the team is the front line of aid for our end users globally. The team works with regional Randox technical teams so occasional travel is required. Location : Randox Science Park, 30 Randalstown Road, Antrim, BT41 4FL. Contract Offered: Full-time, Permanent Working Hours / Shifts : 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 08.40 to 17.20 or longer days Monday to Thursday with a half day on a Friday. This role is a desk based scientist role, supporting laboratories but will not involve lab work. The main duties of the role include: • Providing technical and applications support for all Randox reagent and quality control materials • Handling and troubleshooting of technical customer queries from local and international locations. • Provision of product information and advice on the application of Randox procedures. • Review and analysis of performance data and comparative studies. • Provide product and instrument training to international staff • Use of query-logging software to record and monitor the status of customer and internal queries. • Development of a high degree of product knowledge covering all Randox product groups. • Travel internationally when required, to customer sites to deal with customer queries. Essential criteria: • A bachelors degree in Biochemistry, Biomedical Science or a Life Science related discipline. • Excellent organisation skills • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Flexibility for travel worldwide. • Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship. Desirable: • Experience working within a laboratory. • Experience training new staff in lab equipment. • Previous experience troubleshooting quality control material. • Previous experience working in a similar role. • Experience with clinical chemistry analysers and applications knowledge.

In this role you will be working with samples from both our Randox Health clinics and 3rd parties in our busy laboratory. Location: Randox Science Park, Randalstown Road, Antim Town. BT41 4LF. Contract Offered: Full time, permanent. Working Hours / Shifts : Monday – Friday / Tuesday – Saturday on rotation. Early and late shifts may be available. No night shifts required. As this role deals with live blood samples, it is strongly recommended that you are vaccinated against Hepatitis B before commencing employment.
