Brothers of Charity Services Ireland – Southern Region The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland – Southern Region is a major voluntary organisation, which provides age related residential, educational and day services for people with intellectual disabilities, autism and communication disorders throughout the Cork and Kerry area. Applications are invited for the following:- PERSON IN CHARGE Ref: 19/2025 Social Care Manager 1 / Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) GRADE Permanent Full-Time (39 /37.5 hours per week) Location: Adults Residential Services, Cork City/suburbs The Purpose The post holder will ensure that each person supported is supported through a person centred approach ensuring their rights are respected at all times. Emphasis will be on forming a team approach involving the person supported, families, key workers, advocates and staff including day services, ensure a meaning quality of life for each person in their centre(s),. Working towards community integration and ensuring a quality service is provided to all who use the service are essential part of the role. The person/s appointed shall ensure that the vision is delivered through our core values of Person Centred Service. Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, national Legislation including Health Act 2007 and H.I.Q.A. regulations. May take on the duties of Person in Charge for a designated centre. The normal working hours will be 37.5/39 hours per week (depending on qualification) however, flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and sleepovers are involved. The person/s appointed shall, in addition to partaking in the roster, be responsible for the day-to-day management of the designated centre/centres, reflecting the ethos and vision of the Brothers of Charity, operating within agreed policies and procedures and ensuring that the individual needs of person supported are being met by all workers therein. Reporting to Area Manager or other authorised person as the Employing Authority may designate 1. Professional Qualifications and Experience etc. Candidates must Possess a level 7 or higher in Social care PLUS a level 8 in a health/management related 3rdlevel qualification on the Quality & Qualifications (QQI) framework. OR Possess a nursing qualification PLUS a level 8 in a health/management related 3rdlevel qualification on the Quality & Qualifications (QQI) framework. Possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Social Care Worker Registration Board, CORU And Must be eligible for registration on the Social Care Workers registration board with CORU from November 2023 , must obtain such registration by November 2025 and must maintain such registration for the duration of employment in this role. If a qualified nurse maintain live annual registration in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) - An Bórd Altranais Have a minimum 5 years’ experience of working in residential services supporting adults with intellectual disability, autism and challenging behaviour is essential. Minimum 2 years management or supervisory experience. Possess or working towards a relevant management qualification. Post graduate training in Positive Behaviour Support is desirable Be flexible to meet the requirements of the service Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of flexibility is essential Have experience of using alternative communication methods is essential Previous experience and understanding of how to support individuals with very specific and clinical support requirements and a clear understanding of the importance of working in line with written protocols and guidelines is desirable Have experience of using a person centered planning system is essential. Be computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge and proficiency of using information systems Driving Licence Candidates must possess a full driving licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads as it is essential for the roles. 3. Age * Public Servants not affected by this legislation: Public servants recruited between 1 April 2004 and 31 December 2012 (new entrants) have no compulsory retirement age. Public servants recruited since 1 January 2013 are members of the Single Pension Scheme and have a compulsory retirement age of 70. 4. Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. 5. Character Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character. 6. Hours of Work The normal working hours will be 37.5/39 hours per week (depending on qualification) however, flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and nights are involved. Starting and finishing times will be as notified to the appointee from time to time by the line manager. It is essential that the Clinical Nurse Manager/ Social Care leader ensures that there is constant and appropriate cover available within the residential service at all times. The appointee may be required to work additional hours arising from the duties of the appointment and compensation for these hours by way of time off in lieu, to be taken in line with the policy. 7. Salary Scale: Social Care Manager 1: €55,793 - €65,155 (1/3/25 Consolidated Scales) or Clinical Nurse Mgr 1: €56,081 - €66,045 (1/3/25 Consolidated Scales) * Successful candidates are required to submit all documentary evidence outlining any relevant experience within 3 months of starting date. Applications are invited for the following post Senior Behaviour Therapist Ref: 18/2025 Permanent Full-Time (35 hours per week) Location: Behaviour Support Services, Cork The Role As part of a Behaviour Support team, this Senior Behaviour Therapist role is to assist the development and implementation of Multi-Element Behaviour Support at an individual and organisational level. The Candidate must have A relevant QQI level 8 or higher in a health services area (e.g Psychology, RNID Nursing, Occupational Therapy). A Level 9 Masters qualification in applied behaviour analysis. Five years’ experience of working with people with intellectual disability and behaviour support needs. A minimum of three years post qualification experience developing and implementing behaviour support plans preferably using the Multi-Element Behaviour Support model Experience in staff training Experience in working with families Registration with a relevant professional body in Ireland Possess a full clean driving licence, which qualifies you to drive on Irish roads with means of transport.
