Title: Pharmacy Sales / Dispensary Assistant Reports to: (in the first instance) the Pharmacy Manager About You: The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, possess excellent communication skills and have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy required to provide a quality dispensing service. Primary Purpose: To work as a team and support the Pharmacist/Store Manager in ensuring the store is run efficiently on a day-to-day basis. Main Duties and Responsibilities • To co-operate with the Pharmacist/Store Manager responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the pharmacy • Assist the Pharmacist in delivering a comprehensive dispensing service to meet patient needs, including: o Receiving prescriptions from customers o Preparing prescriptions under direction from the Pharmacist o Using dispensary and stores computer systems to generate stock lists and labels o Helping to maintain reasonable dispensary stock levels o Ordering items for use within the Pharmacy under the direction of the Pharmacist • Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service at all times adhering to MediCare standards of service delivery. • Receive deliveries and restock dispensary/shop front • Review & transmit orders to Warehouse • Deal with telephone queries (medical advice must only be provided by the Pharmacist) • Cleaning all area of the shop including floors, shelves, toilets etc. • Key holder (if required) – open / close shop when required. • Assist in organising monies for bank lodgements and till floats. • To undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the Store/Pharmacy Manager as and when required.
Student Engagement Mentor
Salary: £25,992 - £30,559 per annum Main Duties & Responsibilities The postholder will be responsible for: • Student mentoring, monitoring and intervention as part of the college Student Engagement team. • Supporting the student journey from induction, course performance, and progression. • Managing a caseload of students, and working in small, focused sessions, one to one and whole class groups. • Proactively checking and monitoring student attendance and wellbeing within a designated campus or number of campuses as required. • Using College data to make judgements on students ‘at risk’ of non-achievement. • Providing a range of support interventions to students and setting high standards for their behaviour and engagement with the college. • Work closely with the Student Engagement Officer to promote student wellbeing and facilitate the Student Voice as appropriate. Main Cross-College Duties: The post holder will: • Respond promptly where barriers to learning are identified by carrying out proactive intervention strategies referring learners to relevant support where required and monitoring their progress and altering actions to ensure success; • Recognise and respond promptly to the specific needs of Vulnerable Learners i.e. Looked After Children/Young Care Leavers (LAC/YCL) as well as any learner for whom there are Safeguarding concerns; • Liaise across a variety of College teams (curriculum, careers, student services) to provide appropriate internal interventions and case conferencing to ensure the best possible learner outcomes for individual cohorts. • Provide one-to-one support for their caseload of students to monitor performance and maximise retention and achievement. • Actively help record and celebrate student progress and success so that students are encouraged and feel supported. • Implement strategies and support learners in areas of need i.e. self-esteem, confidence-building, resilience, study skills etc. • Collaborate with Curriculum delivery teams to identify and provide appropriate resources which will meet curriculum needs and develop student learning and thinking skills which may include internal case conferences. • Keep up to date and accurate records of student’s attendance, punctuality, behaviour and progress on the college’s system adhering to the College approved processes and procedures • Liaise with Curriculum Area Managers, Lecturers and Student Support Services to provide wrap-around care for their students. • Working in liaison with other college staff to signpost students to the range of support services available to them including financial, academic, social and emotional issues which may be having a detrimental effect on their studies. • Contribute to a range of enhancement initiatives to encourage students to engage in College life i.e. club and societies. • Design and deliver awareness raising workshops to student groups. • Take a proactive approach to ensuring the safeguarding and wellbeing of the student population including supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead by acting as a Deputy Safeguarding Officer. • Assist with a range of cross-College events i.e. Freshers events, College campaigns, marketing events, Student Union events. • Write reports, collate data and undertake administrative tasks as required to achieve the main duties outlined above. Animal Management Technician, Months, With A Potential To Become
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our animal management team here at Northern Regional College. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the college’s animal management courses at both NRC Magherafelt and Coleraine campuses. The role involves preparing practical sessions, supporting delivery of animal handling and theory sessions, maintaining animal welfare standards and caring for a range of small animals (e.g. rabbits, guinea pigs, small rodents, fish etc.). Motor Vehicle Technician
Salary: £25,992 – £30,559 per annum Main Duties & Responsibilities To provide expert technical support and assistance to teaching staff and students and develop and maintain all technical aspects within Motor Vehicle department. Set up, before & during • Preparations of classroom area, resources, materials, equipment and/or tools before classes arrive to carry out practical activities. • Operate and train staff in the use of complex resources, materials, equipment and/or tools using safe working practices. • Demonstration, using expert knowledge, of techniques, resources, materials, equipment and/or tools to students under Lecturers supervision. Procurement Advisor
Main Purpose This is a key role in the NIFRS finance team. The post-holder will support the Procurement and Contracts Manager in delivering an efficient and effective procurement & contract management service that ensures NIFRS has access to procure the goods and services required to support the needs of the communities we serve. This is a wide and varied role and the post holder will be responsible for supporting the function through provision of advice and guidance as well as transactional processing and quality assurance of procurement and contract management activity. The post holder will contribute as an integral member of the Finance team to the provision of a modern, professional and responsive financial service to support the purpose, outcomes and values of NIFRS outlined in the diagram below. Summary of Responsibilities Procurement & Contract Management To support the Procurement and Contracts Manager in the provision of an efficient and effective Procurement and Contract management service. To comply with, and support, the NIFRS Procurement Strategy and provide advice to internal stakeholders on all procurement matters including tendering, quotations, contract management and procurement legislation. To support and deliver the day to day procurement and contract management functions and maintain relationships with NIFRS Centres of Procurement Expertise (CoPE) Business Services Organisation (BSO) Procurement and Logistics Service (PaLS) and Central Procurement Directorate (CPD). To liaise with the relevant CoPE organisations regarding procurements to ensure effective planning and management of tenders. To assist in Procurement Awareness training as required for internal stakeholders. Complete procurement of goods through compliant routes to deliver Value for Money solutions within the public procurement policy, legal and accountability frameworks. To assist in fulfilling and monitoring Key Performance Indicators for NIFRS Procurement Function to demonstrate positive performance of service. To exercise judgement or discretion within a framework of rule, practice and precedent to identify and select the most appropriate course of action from a range of options within a procurement and contract management setting. Collation, analysis and interpretation of spend information from numerous sources in order to identify efficiencies, procurement and contract improvements. To provide procurement & contract management advice to internal contract managers and day-to-day assistance with the operational management of contracts, including service level agreements (SLA’s). Ensure supplier performance is proactively monitored, contract Management Information is analysed and relevant reports on contractor performance and analytics is documented. Lead, conduct and participate in contract review meetings with NIFRS Contractors/Suppliers. Ensure that all complaints are dealt with promptly and effectively to resolution. To manage all Contract and Procurement queries to ensure timely and informative responses to all stakeholders. To approve orders when required in line with delegated Procurement authority limits following accuracy and validity checking. To assist with the invoice clearing process within the e-procurement system. To approve the addition of goods/services onto the e-procurement system, in accordance with NIFRS policies. To provide the necessary information to facilitate completion of all statutory/regulatory returns and requests for information from the sponsor body. Run regular system reports to monitor Contract and Non Contract Spend and update the Contract Management database to ensure compliance with control limits. Assist the Procure to Pay Team in the approval of requisitions to ensure spend is compliant. To provide final quality assurance of Procure to Pay procurement-related transactional processing. Governance, Data & Information Assurance To assist with the effective implementation of an assurance & accountability framework for procurement activities. Maintain a sound knowledge and understanding of relevant Legislation, Procurement Guidance Notices, policies and processes applicable to NIFRS and extend knowledge to procurement staff via research and dissemination of relevant material. To advise internal stakeholders on the NIFRS procurement strategy, policy and procedures that reflect compliance with NI Executive Direction and Procurement best practice. Responsibility for handling sensitive personal data and ensuring that the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are met. Maintaining the records management framework of procurement records including electronic and manual retention and disposal in line with GDPR and Record Retention Policies. Assist the Procurement and Contracts Manager in ensuring the accurate and timely provision of financial information for external release, as requested under Freedom of Information, Assembly Questions and by Legal Representatives and Statutory Bodies. Assist the Procurement and Contracts Manager in preparing documentation for internal and external audit, Freedom of Information requests, Assembly Questions and other external parties where appropriate, ensuring the accurate and timely provision of information as requested. Ensure the accurate and timely provision of procurement information as requested by other Departments by review and quality assurance. Recording and reporting of fraud or potential fraud in line with Policy to ensure compliance with National Fraud Initiative. Systems and Service Improvement Assist the Procure to Pay Team in the administration and maintenance of new and existing Contracts within the e-procurement system in line with NIFRS Policies. Support the development of innovative and effective systems and procedures to achieve continuous improvement, customer journey improvements and improved reporting suite and lead on implementation where appropriate. Engage proactively in the NIFRS Service Improvement Programme by assisting on the modernisation of procurement and contract management systems and processes; supporting the migration into new systems and processes which will include taking ownership of some operational change implementation. People Management Maintain good working relationships with team members as well as within the wider finance department and organisation. Provide and participate in the training of existing and new staff on all relevant legislation, policies, processes and procedures and the general running of the office. Assist the Accounts Team Manager in supporting the Procure to Pay Administrators to carry out their Procurement tasks. General Responsibilities To prepare appropriate business cases, tenders and quotations, in line with financial and procurement regulations, policies and procedures and corporate timescales. To provide a high level of internal and external customer service including taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and following issues through to completion. To ensure continued and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Senior Management and the Department of Health. Person Specification Knowledge, Skills and Experience Possess a minimum of an HNC or equivalent* qualification in a relevant discipline e.g. finance, business management, governance; AND Have a minimum of two years’** demonstrable experience working in a procurement environment within a large*** organisation. OR Possess at least 5 GCSEs at Grades A* - C / 9 - 4 (or equivalent*) including English Language and Mathematics; AND Have a minimum of four year’s** demonstrable experience working in a procurement environment within a large*** organisation. Can demonstrate: Excellent planning and delivery of high quality work with excellent attention to detail; Excellent management of working relationships skills and the ability to influence management; Experience in the use of Information Technology systems including Microsoft Office Suite, and management information/Finance systems. Demonstrate your knowledge in relation to procurement and the procurement lifecycle to include procurement legislation applicable to Public Sector.
