THE ROLE The Corlann West employ in excess of 1,900 staff providing services to over 2,000 adults and children with an intellectual disability across counties Galway and Roscommon. We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Finance Manager to lead our Finance Services team. This is a pivotal leadership role with dual responsibility for ensuring operational excellence in all financial processes and providing strategic financial partnership to the organisation. You will be the key driver of financial integrity, compliance and insight, managing a team of 14 professionals across payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger. As a trusted advisor to the Head of Finance and non-finance managers, you will play a crucial part in enabling Corlann to achieve its mission through sound financial stewardship. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Essential Criteria: • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) is an essential requirement of the role. • Proven experience (+3 years) in a senior finance role as a competent experienced people manager able to lead and motivate a team is an essential requirement of the role. • Extensive experience in financial management, reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. • Strong technical accounting skills and a deep understanding of financial compliance and risk management. • Strong people leadership skills with a creative collaborative mindset with the ability to grasp issues quickly and work on the right things at the right time. • Strong understanding of financial operations in a health or social care setting or working within intellectual disability or similar care services a distinct advantage. • Business Acumen: A strategic thinker with strong business partnering skills and a solutions-oriented mindset. • Integrity: Unimpeachable professional integrity and a commitment to the values and mission of Corlann. • Ability to create order from ambiguity & willingness to roll up sleeves to directly solve problems, operates with a sense of urgency, ability to prioritise work, conscientious, attention to detail and “can do” attitude. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with excellent written & spoken English. • High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities. REPORTING/RESPONSIBLE TO Head of Finance West Region. HOURS OF WORK 70 hours per fortnight based on a 5 day Monday to Friday basis. Contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. over 7 days as future service needs require. Flexibility may be required in order to meet Service demands. ANNUAL LEAVE 30 days per annum. PENSION SCHEME The Corlann Contributory Superannuation Scheme which is linked with the Nominated Health Agencies Superannuation Scheme or Single Public Service Pension Scheme (whichever is applicable) will apply to this appointment and the person appointed will enter the said Scheme as and from the date of taking up employment. REMUNERATION The reference salary applying to the grade ranges from a minimum of €80,676 to a maximum of €94,338 gross basic per annum. After three years on the maximum point, a Long Service Increment applies bringing the annual salary to €97,533 gross basic per annum. After a further three years another Long Service Increment applies bring the annual salary to the maximum of €100,693 gross per annum. TENURE OF EMPLOYMENT The position is permanent, full-time and pensionable. TRAVEL The person appointed must provide his/her own car and must furnish an indemnity from Insurers in favour of the employer. Travelling expenses at the appropriate rate will be paid in respect of travel necessarily performed in the discharge of duty and in accordance with our Travel Policy. The travel base for this purpose will be Kilcornan House, Clarinbridge, Co. Galway. This may be subject to change in the future. PROBATION A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. GALWAY JOB REF: 100927 DESCRIPTION AND VISION OF SERVICES Corlann – West Region provide a community based, person centred service focusing on the needs and abilities of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The vision of the service is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their community, in line with best practice both nationally and internationally. Working in partnership with each person supported by services, we aim to create opportunities for people supported by services to have ordinary life experiences and to be closely connected to family and friends. We are committed to supporting people to live a life of their choosing. Caislean Services provide a range of community-based servicesincluding day, residential, respite, community outreach, family support and a range of multidisciplinary support services. People are supported in various types of day settings – day centres, supported employment, social and micro enterprises, training and education and these can be in groups or individualised. People are supported in residential settings in their own homes in the community individually and in groups with different staffing support levels depending on their levels of disability. Our Services are person centred focusing on the needs and abilities of adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. We wish to create opportunities for people who use our service to have valued social roles in their communities and to form friendships. We wish to recruit innovative, creative and motivated people who will relish the opportunity to assist in achieving this vision as part of a team. We are looking for people who will be flexible and dynamic, can adapt to the needs of particular individuals they supportand be open to change. The Role: The Team Manager will provide leadership and direction for the team, actively coordinating the team to ensure the development of person-centred services as agreed on the Service Plan for each Service Area. The Team Manager will support the staff teams and be responsible for the overall operational management of specified locations of the service. The successful candidates will work closely with the Service Coordinator/ Area Manager to ensure that services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner within the agreed budget, and will be proactive members of the management team. The successful candidate will be involved in developing existing services through supporting the local staff teams. The Team Manager will have Person in Charge (PIC) responsibility and will oversee some residential and day service locations. Reporting To/ Responsible To : Team Manager/Service Coordinator or delegate Qualifications/Experience: · A relevant 3rd level qualification in the Social Care or Health Sector e.g. Nursing qualification and current Live Register Certificate from NMBI or Social Care qualification and be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board - CORU Or Be eligible under the Section 91 (existing practitioner) route for registration in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board -CORU (evidence of application status is necessary) · An appropriate qualification in Health and Social Care Management (QQI Level 6) is a necessary requirement of the post. Contracted hours will be based on a 7-day duty roster and will depend on the qualification of the successful candidate. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will work primarily Monday to Friday with contracted hours of work liable to change between the hours of 8am – 8pm. Some weekend work may be required. Contracted hours of work are rostered to meet the requirements of the service, to include days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, as service need requires.
