The South Kerry team is based in Killarney with an outreach services to Tralee, Killorglin and Caherciveen to provide input to families from the South Kerry area . A ssessment, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions are provided by an Interdisciplinary team. The CDNT aims to maximise the child/ young adult’s full potential and works within the context of the family and community, empowering and supporting parents/care givers and family members . Have a university degree or diploma (QQI Level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject, AND Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology OR An equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health. AND Must have 6 months experience of working as a Psychologist , or Trainee Psychologist under supervision, with children with disabilities (Intellectual Disability, Autism and/or Physical and Sensory disabilities) 2. Driving Licence Must have a full driving license and means of transport which qualifies you to drive on Irish roads. 3. Age The Public Service Superannuation (Age of Retirement) Act, 2018* set 70 years as the compulsory retirement age for public servants. * Public Servants not affected by this legislation: Public servants recruited between 1 April 2004 and 31 December 2012 (new entrants) have no compulsory retirement age. The Children’s Services support children up to the age of 18 years with Intellectual Disabilities who present with a range of support needs including Autism, Physical Disability & Complex Medical needs. The Role: The In-Home Support Practitioner will work as part of a multidisciplinary governance and support team in delivering a quality and effective service. This service will be provided through offering an in-home based support to parents and children. The role is specifically family focused, with the welfare of the child being paramount. The Role: The role of support worker is to assist the people who use our service to meet their day to day needs, reach their full potential, promote independence and to be an active part of their the local community. We support them to further their education (both internal and external to the Service) and to build their independent living skills if this is their choice. A major focus of the Support Worker role is to assist and support people who use the Service with development of their own Individual Plan and supporting them to achieve their own Personal Outcome goals. The Support Worker is also responsible for all aspects of personal care which includes supporting individuals with their meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being as required by the individual. The successful candidate must enjoy solving problems in a complex ICT infrastructure and will be proactive with broad technical knowledge and skills. This position will involve working with people whose knowledge about IT ranges from novice to expert. You will be required to provide cover for the ICT Operations Manager during varying pre-notified leave times. Being able to prioritise the problems that arise is essential. The successful candidate must weigh each problem for its severity and complexity and then resolve problems in the order that keeps the greatest number of people productive. The appointee’s ability to work with others, both technical and non-technical personnel, is key to this job. Change is constant, so the appointee will always be learning something new.
