We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Special Seating Clinician to join our team in Sandymount . Contract Type: Permanent full-time. Contract Hours: 35 hrs per week. Salary Scale: €57,771 - €68,385pro rata per annum. Annual Leave Entitlement : 33 days. Overview of the Post: SeatTech is a leading national provider of special seating solutions to wheelchair users with complex needs, and this role provides an exciting opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary clinical, engineering and technical team to provide a user-focussed service. The Special Seating Clinician works in partnership with SeatTech colleagues in the delivery of wheelchair and special seating assessments, and equipment selection, prescription and provision. Overview of Duties & Responsibilities: Service Delivery: In supporting the provision of a high-quality special seating service, the Special Seating Clinician independently carries a clinical caseload, which involves: • Working in partnership with colleagues and service users, taking into account the service user’s ability, needs and preferences • Communicating effectively with colleagues, service users, relatives, carers and other related professionals • Delivery of a quality clinical service to include: - Assessment - Prescription - Delivery - Handover - Review of posture positioning and related mobility equipment, to meet individual service user requirements • Being accountable for documentation of service user intervention according to the norms of their profession and the requirements of SeatTech Service Development: The Special Seating Clinician plays a pivotal role in the development of the service as a whole, and contributes to the formation of a strategy for the service to help ensure its sustainability into the future. Current service development priorities in which the successful applicant will be involved include: • Supporting the review, further development, and promotion of the SeatTech suite of seating assessment training courses • Establishing collaborative research partnerships with third-level education institutions • Transitioning to digital technologies Please see Job Description for full list. The successful candidate will have Essential Criteria: • An honours degree (NFQ Level 8 or higher) in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy • Current CORU Registration • Training in anatomy & physiology and understanding of the principles of postural management & seating assessment • Three year’s experience of working in the sector, with specific experience in the area of wheelchairs and adaptive seating • Demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development • Strong presentation skills • Full Class B driving licence Desirable Criteria: • Postgraduate research experience • Significant (>3 years) independent seating assessment experience • SeatTech Level 1 & Level 2 seating assessment training course attendance, or equivalent • Knowledge & understanding of the social model of disability and its implications to service delivery • Experience of delivering and assessing CPD training courses and/or seminars • Experience in the supervision of staff or students • Experience of liaising with and fostering relationships with different organisations and third-level institutions This position is open to clinicians with significant experience in the area. About the Coombe Hospital NCSL The Coombe Hospital National Cervical Screening Laboratory (NCSL), on the campus of The Coombe Hospital, is a national ‘Centre of Excellence’ for cervical cancer screening in Ireland and dedicated to servicing the future needs of the Irish national cervical cancer screening programme. The new, state of the art, bespoke laboratory is designed with the capacity to process the full national caseload and is intended to ultimately become CervicalCheck’s main provider of cervical screening laboratory services in Ireland. Consultant Paediatric Respiratory Physician

Children’s Health Ireland are seeking to fill this Consultant Paediatric Respiratory Physician post on a permanent basis 37 hours per week at Children’s Health Ireland. This includes 18.50 hours per week at CHI at Temple Street and 18.50 hours per week at CHI at Tallaght. Purpose of the Role: Strategy: i) To reduce extremely long waiting lists for outpatient clinic review: currently there is a two year waiting list for a routine new appointment with a consultant in paediatric respiratory medicine at CHI at Temple Street and 1 year at CHI at Tallaght. ii) To reduce waiting lists for investigations of sleep disordered breathing. Currently there is a two year waiting list for overnight studies to diagnose these disorders e.g. overnight oxygen and carbon dioxide studies and overnight oxygen studies. There is a two year waiting list for both of these studies at CHI at Temple St. At CHI at Tallaght, there is a 20 month waiting list for overnight oxygen and carbon dioxide studies, a 29-month with for overnight oxygen studies and a 5 month waiting list for cardiorespiratory polygraphy (CRPG). iii) To reduce waiting times for investigations to assess and regularly monitor gas exchange in children on long term ventilation (e.g. CPAP and BIPAP: overnight sleep study waiting times as outlined above. Specialities whose workload will change: This will reduce the waiting time for patients referred for Respiratory review and investigation from other specialties including ENT, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Metabolic, Endocrine, Neuro-disability, General Paediatrics, Craniofacial etc. This will reduce waiting time for GP referrals for secondary and tertiary respiratory review. Respiratory service: Currently, there is a two year waiting list for routine new outpatient paediatric Respiratory appointments in CHI at Temple St. and a one year waiting time in CHI at Tallaght. There is a two year wait for overnight oxygen studies investigations for sleep disordered breathing in CHI Temple Street and 29 months waiting list at CHI Tallaght. There is a two year wait for overnight oxygen and carbon dioxide studies for routine assessment of children on long term ventilation (e.g. CPAP and BIPAP) and those with sleep disordered breathing at CHI Temple St and similarly a 20 and 18 month waiting list espectively at CHI Tallaght (e.g. overnight oxygen and carbon dioxide studies). These studies are important to assess and regularly monitor the oxygen and carbon dioxide levels. Provision of a long term ventilation service for children: the number of referrals for this service from a broad range of sub-specialities has hugely increased over the last few years as have referrals from across the country. Investigation of Sleep Disordered breathing in children is an area that has increased significantly over the last few years with huge increase in referrals to respiratory services from within the hospital and from across the country Investigation of Sleep Disordered breathing in children is an area that has increased significantly over the last few years with huge increase in referrals to respiratory services from within the hospital and from across the country This post will also support the Clinical Specialty Lead for Respiratory to fulfil the remit of the Clinical Specialty Lead role. Eligibility Criteria Professional Qualifications and Experience Mandatory: a) Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of Paediatrics and b) Two years certified postgraduate training in paediatric respiratory medicine The successful interviewee must be registered as a specialist in the relevant specialty on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland, within 180 days of the day of interview and before taking up appointment. In exceptional circumstances proleptic appointments may be considered for candidates engaged in relevant training programmes. The Consultant must, at all times while continuing to hold office, continue to be registered with the Medical Council of Ireland. Documentary evidence of Medical Council Registration is required and must be produced annually to the Medical Administration Department within the Children’s Health Ireland. Should the successful candidate not be registered as a Specialist at that time, the post may be offered to the next suitable candidate. Should no suitable candidate exist, a further recruitment process may be initiated. Desirable Criteria: Clinical fellowship, or specialist training, in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine, national or international. Experience with interventional bronchoscopy and aerodigestive disorders is desirable but not essential.
