CORLANN WEST POST OF: PERMANENT FULL-TIME RECRUITMENT OFFICER (ADMIN GRADE V) HR DEPARTMENT JOB REF: 98611 A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Recruitment Officer Appointments within the HR Department – West Region will be made over the next 12 months. The Role: To provide an effective recruitment service to the West Region Management and employees. Corlann West employ in excess of 1,900 staff providing services to over 2,000 adults and children with an intellectual disability across counties Galway and Roscommon. The Recruitment Officer is responsible for delivering a high quality, efficient, and compliant recruitment service across the West region. The post holder will manage end to end recruitment processes, ensuring timely staffing to support safe, person centred service delivery. The role requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with hiring managers, HR colleagues, and external stakeholders. Location of Office: Clarenbridge, Co. Galway or Roscommon Town, Co. Roscommon Essential Requirements • Minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience working in a fast-paced recruitment, HR, or administrative role within the public sector i.e. HSE, Section 38/39, or similar public sector environments or a regulated environment. • Demonstrate experience managing recruitment campaigns. • Demonstrate experience of managing and delivering multiple concurrent pieces of work • Experience in Intellectual Disability (ID) or health/social care recruitment. • Knowledge of public sector recruitment policies, employment legislation & HIQA regulations and compliance requirements • Proficiency in MS Office and HR/recruitment systems. • Demonstrate a proven ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines as required. • Ability to manage high volume workloads and competing deadlines. • Strong organisational and administrative skills with accuracy and excellent attention to detail. • The ability to appropriately analyse and interpret information, develop solutions and contribute to decisions quickly and accurately as appropriate. • Candidates must also have the ability to exercise good judgement, discretion and confidentiality, to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms and co-operate in a team environment. • The ability to recognise when it is appropriate to refer decisions to a higher level of management. • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Motivation and an innovative approach to the job within a changing working environment. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • A full clean driving licence and use of a car is an essential requirement of the post. Desirable Requirements • Experience supporting interview panels. • Use of ATS – Rezoomo or equivalent. • Working towards or achieved minimum level 7 qualification in Human Resources on the QQI national Qualification Framework. • Demonstrate experience in the analysis of data and preparation of reports and graphs Reporting/Responsible to: Recruitment Lead/Recruitment & Talent Manager/Regional Head of Human Resources. Working Hours: 70 hours per fortnight based on a 5 day Monday to Friday basis. Contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. over 7 days as future service needs require. Flexibility may be required in order to meet Service demands Remuneration: Department of Health Grade V (Clerical) salary scale (01/02/2026) - € 52,235 x 5 increments – € 58,659 (Max) pro rata per annum. A Long Service Increment (LSI)-€ 60,569 pro rata per annum is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. A final Long Service Increment (LSI)-€ 62,485 pro rata per annum is payable after a further 3 years. Annual Leave The annual leave attached to this post is 28 days per annum. Tenure: This post is permanent, full-time and pensionable. Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. Travel: The person appointed must provide his/her own car and must furnish an indemnity from Insurers in favour of the employer.
