Key Responsibilities Operational Responsibilities To apply paint, stain, varnish, primers, sealers and fungicidal solution as and when required to timber, metal, plaster and masonry work etc. To carry out any required preparation by stripping, sanding, wire brushing to maintain doors, door frames, windows, timber, metal and masonry etc. To remove and refit fixtures and fittings, ironmongery as required. To fill cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives. Carry out a range of minor multi-skilled tasks and maintenance work outside of trade without reliance on other trades, for example: o Plastering o Joinery o Plumbing o Non-slip flooring o Tiling Customer Service To provide a quality customer service and maintain a good customer relationship on behalf of the NIHE. To ensure the health and safety of our tenants, especially vulnerable tenants, when undertaking work in occupied properties. To liaise with customers to arrange appointments, access arrangements, discuss work required etc. Performance and Reporting To ensure accurate and timely completion of all job information by both paper-work and electronic means (including use of PDAs and mobile devices) as required and pass this on to supervisor within agreed timescales. To work effectively to maximise output and ensure delivery within expected timescales. To identify and highlight to supervisors potential opportunities for changes to working practices to ensure continuous service improvement. Health and Safety To ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety and any other relevant legislation. To exercise proper care in the handling, operating and safeguarding of tools, equipment, vehicles or appliances in the operation of general duties. To be responsible for the safe use, storage, handling and recording of chemicals according to COSSH procedures, including under supervision as required. To follow safe systems of work and risk assessments, attending toolbox talks and health and safety courses as required. To use and maintain equipment such as lone working devices, mobile communications and logging systems. To wear and take care of designated PPE provided. To report accidents/incidents and near misses and participate in any resulting investigations as required. People To act as a mentor for Apprentices and newly qualified employees to ensure they acquire the appropriate knowledge and skills to develop their competency and performance on the job. To ensure participation in trade training and skill enhancement of others and take a mentoring approach to colleagues to improve performance. To provide support and cover for colleagues as required to ensure resilience as far as practicable. To train new members of the team and support Apprentices. General Duties To carry out and complete all work to a high quality and in a competent and timely manner, leaving the property in a safe, clean and tidy condition. To collaborate with other staff/sub-contractors etc. as necessary to ensure the timely completion of works within agreed operational targets. To attend meetings, training sessions as required, including participating in training with a view to carrying out work outside of normal trade duties, where required. To undertake the duties in such a way as to enhance and protect the reputation and public profile of NIHE. To comply with and adhere to NIHE frameworks, policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to legal requirements such as equality, health and safety and information governance. To undertake any other duties appropriate to the post’s objectives as required by management. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Have successfully completed an apprenticeship in Painting/Decorating (either time served* or skills based). Time served is recognised as experience gained prior to formal qualifications being available, i.e. City & Guilds. Knowledge, Skills and Experience (continued) 2 years’ post-Apprenticeship Painting/Decorating experience* Relevant experience will be interpreted as working as a Painter/Decorator on improvement or maintenance of properties.

With our ever increasing number of new clinics opening on the high street across the UK and Ireland, we require a number of new staff members to join our Facilities team. We have exciting new career opportunities for Painters to join our Facilities team. Location : Home based in the Greater London area, with regular travel required to Randox sites, mainly across London and the south of England. Some travel to other parts of the UK and Ireland will be required on some occasions. Contract Offered : Full-time, Permanent Working Hours : 40 hours per week minimum on site. Travel time from home to site is also paid. Regular overtime available. Company expensed van, and other expenses covered. Some flexibility on working hours may be required. What does this role involve? The main purpose of this role will be the maintenance of existing Randox sites as well as fit out of new sites across the UK and Ireland, in all aspects of painting and decorating.
