About the role As a Senior Civil Technician, you will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality civil engineering projects, including site development, roads, transportation, and public health infrastructure. You will be responsible for preparing 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, ensuring all outputs meet technical and ISO quality standards. Working closely with project managers and engineers, you will oversee the work of junior technicians, contribute to design coordination, and design team meetings. You will also support health and safety documentation, maintain efficient workflows within budget, and mentor junior staff to develop their technical and professional skills. About you You are an experienced and motivated Senior Civil Technician with a proven track record in delivering high-quality civil and infrastructure design. With a strong understanding of Irish design standards, planning requirements, and construction practices, you take pride in producing accurate and efficient technical drawings and models. You are highly proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (or similar design software) and have experience working on a variety of civil engineering projects such as roads, drainage systems, utilities, or land development. You are confident working both independently and collaboratively, and thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. You possess excellent communication skills and a detail-oriented mindset, allowing you to liaise effectively with engineers, planners, and other project stakeholders. You are solution-focused, quality-driven, and always looking to contribute to the successful delivery of complex projects across Ireland. Skills and experience - Certificate or Diploma in Engineering/Construction CAD or relevant field - A Higher Certificate (NFQ Level 6) in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification. - Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and Autodesk Civil 3D, with hands-on experience considered essential. - Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work in a fast-paced environment. - Clear understanding of the full project lifecycle, with a proactive and adaptable approach to evolving project demands. - Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining technical competence. - Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic design team. - Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards is a plus. The role offers an opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors, including retail, commercial, renewables, residential, pharma across all stages of development. You will apply your engineering and experience to carry out feasibility studies, detailed designs, and prepare reports and technical specifications. Skills and experience A bachelor’s degree in civil and or structural engineering. - 2-5 years post-graduate experience in a similar role, preferably consultancy. - Self-motivated. - Proficient in industry standard civil and structural design software. - Demonstrated knowledge of construction & engineering principles. - Excellent technical design skills and knowledge of relevant codes and standards. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Willingness to travel to project sites as required. Since the introduction of BC(A)R 2014, we have a dedicated assigned certifier team of experienced chartered engineers and surveyors working on some of Ireland’s most prestigious construction projects. We are seeking a Graduate BCAR engineer to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the BC(A)R certification process across a range of project types, including residential, commercial, industrial, logistics, leisure, retail, and healthcare. About you You will be experienced in multidisciplinary projects across various sectors, and therefore familiar with a wide range of building types and understand the common issues and defects associated with these. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all phases of the construction process are coordinated and completed in line with building regulations. As a senior team member, client relationships will be an integral part of your role. The role would suit a result orientated, passionate and ambitious team player.
