Dedicated Mortgage Arrears Adviser North Leinster MABS are inviting applications for a vacancy in its Navan Service for a Full Time, Dedicated Mortgage Arrears Adviser on a Specified Purpose Contract with an expected end date of 31 December 2026. The Dedicated Mortgage Arrears Adviser will provide a free, independent, confidential money advice service to facilitate clients to deal with debt problems arising from mortgage arrears and to become financially independent in the long term. Dedicated Mortgage Arrears Adviser also provide debt prevention education to the target group. Additional Information This is a temporary position subject to completion of a six-month probationary period. The DMA project is currently funded by the Citizens Information Board for a limited period of time. Full Time Salary Scale: €40,843 to €58,836 (including 2 long service increments) . Annual leave entitlement: 26 – 29 days (following 5 years’ service). Pension: There is a pension scheme is in place where 5% is contributed by the employee and 7% by the employer. Membership of the pension scheme is mandatory. The position will be based in the Navan Office of our Meath Service. However, North Leinster MABS operates an incremental credit process for appointments higher than point one. This process is applicable to new entrants into MABS. In line with New Directions policy, the aim of the service is to provide every individual with opportunities to make meaningful choices and engage in new experiences, supporting personal growth and community inclusion. Each day service is made up of a dedicated staff team and these staff teams are supported through a line management structure, supervision, in house training relevant to the support needs of the person supported and ongoing support from multidisciplinary teams. The candidate will be assigned to a day service location based on their experience, qualification and the service need. THE ROLE As a community facilitator in a day service, you will support adults with intellectual disabilities and autism, through a person centred approach, in achieving their full potential by facilitating them to engage in meaningful day activities based on their will and preference. The service will be in a day service environment, you will work as a member of a team under the supervision of senior staff in line with the principles of New Directions, promoting independence, choice, inclusion and meaningful community participation. You will work as part of the team and provide support on a planned basis. Networking and developing strong links within the community is an integral part of this role. You will be required to support an after work programme on a rostered/rotational basis, some evenings and Saturdays in line with HSE Policy New Directions. Clinical Research Fellow Position (x1) in the Department of Surgery Cork University Hospital and University College Cork University College CorkAffiliation: School of Medicine, Department of Surgery Contract Type: Fixed Term Whole-Time Job Type: Clinical Research Project Outline This Clinical Research Fellow position (x1) in Surgery is focused on the perioperative immune response of cancer patients. The research project is supported by the Department of Surgery lab in the University College Cork (UCC) Clinical Science Building at the Cork University Hospital campus. This research project will focus on advancing and improving cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment in the context of surgery. This position will be prioritised to those interested in pursuing a PhD or MD. Key duties and responsibilities · The candidate will conduct a specified programme of research under the supervision of Dr. Cathriona Foley. · Interdisciplinary interactions with collaborators in CUH and UCC will be required. Additional tasks will include: · The dissemination of results at conferences and through scientific articles. · Attendance at postgraduate training courses. · Regular reporting of research data. · Involvement in Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) activities. CUH is the only Level 1 Trauma Centre in Ireland. The Department of Surgery has extensive clinical, research and educatory commitments and is responsible for the delivery of Undergraduate Surgical Education in University College Cork. The Department of Surgery has a long and outstanding tradition of Postgraduate Education with a strong research emphasis on basic science, clinical and translational research. The department’s dedicated research laboratories are located in the UCC Research Facility on the campus of Cork University Hospital. The hospital is located 10 minutes away from the main UCC campus. Professor Paul Redmond is Head of the Department of Surgery at UCC. His primary clinical interest is in Surgical Oncology. He established the Research Laboratory in 1997 and has overseen the research and theses (PhD, MD, MCh) of over 50 research fellows. Dr Foley is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Surgery at UCC. Her primary research focus is harnessing the peri-operative immune response to improve cancer patient outcome. The current research interests of the Department of Surgery include the evaluation of the molecular interactions that influence peri-operative tumour growth, immune response, and wound healing. The laboratory has been successful in achieving significant grant funding and has published over 350 original articles. Funding This full-time position includes a salary, excluding fees if pursuing a PhD or an MD and is tenable for a maximum of 2 years if pursuing a full-time MD and 4 years if pursuing a full-time PhD.
