Overall Purpose of the Post: To work as a Pool Attendant in the hydrotherapy/ swimming pool Duties: • Observation & Supervision of swimmers in the Water • Be fully acquainted with all Pool NOP’s and EAP’s • Water quality test monitoring and record keeping • Respond to any medical / accident/ incident / emergencies situations which may arise • Crowd control • Customer Relations (be it dealing with service users, their families/ carers, other staff users, hires, main centre enquires) • Maintaining high standards of hygiene in the department both in and out of the water and adhere fully to all hygiene procedures for all areas of the department • Plant Room and Boiler Room Operations, as instructed by Manager • Be fully acquainted with and follow open up and shut down procedures • Be fully acquainted with Pool Department Emergency Procedures of a human nature • Be fully acquainted with Pool Department Emergency Procedures of a mechanical nature • Responsibilities in respect of Key Holding / Security • Assist in the dressing room with service owners/users, if required • Assist owners/users on deck with use of hoists entering and exiting the water • Stock control of cleaning products, chemical products, care products, towels when required • To participate in training programmes and other developmental needs as identified by Line Managers, Director of Services or Enable Ireland • Participate in regular supervision • To adhere to record keeping requirements in accordance with agreed procedures • To participate in other quality assurance activities within the service, including risk assessments. • To attend relevant meetings as required and participate appropriately • To adhere to practices, policies and procedures as outlined in the Enable Ireland’s Policies & Procedures Manual and Health & Safety Statement • To be flexible and supportive of other departments and undertake any other activities as requested by the Children’s Services Manager / Director of Services • Respond positively and favourably to Pool changing needs and operational practices, when required • Keeping up to date records of all care duties carried out This description is not restrictive and the post holder may be required to carry out other duties as requested by the Director of Services/Facilities Services Manager. To minimise exposure to breaches of GDPR, strict compliance is required In the course of carrying out the duties of this job and working with others. This will include but is not limited to compliance with Enable Ireland’s suite of GDPR Policies & Procedures, attending all GDPR Training sessions and ensuring personal responsibility for implementing safeguards and measures as directed. Terms & Conditions Responsible to: Facilities Manager Probation: A probationary period of 6 months applies, wherein three probationary meetings will take place to review your performance and suitability for appointment. The company reserves the right to extend the probationary period on an exceptional basis if it is deemed that the extension would be in your interest. In any case, this will not exceed a period of 9 months. The probationary period may also be extended to facilitate statutory leave. Salary: The current salary scale for this post is €15.45 per hour to €17.18 per hour. Annual leave: Annual leave entitlement is 96 hours for duration of this 1 year Fixed Term Contract. Pension scheme: Enable Ireland operates a contributory pension scheme which all staff may join on earlier of 1st July or 1st January following start date Medical: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a medical assessment. Garda Clearance/ These will be required for all prospective staff who undertake Police Clearance: relevant work or activities relating to children or vulnerable persons. Sick Pay: All periods of sickness exceeding two days must be medically (If applicable) certified. Weekly medical certificates are required thereafter. The Company reserves the right to have you examined by its own Doctor after 3 months continuous sick leave. Upon completion of 6 months continuous service with the Company sick pay will be as follows: Full pay less social welfare for the first 13 weeks of sickness in any 12 month rolling period and half pay less social welfare for a further (13) weeks of sickness absence in the same 12 month rolling period Redeployment: In exceptional circumstances the organisation reserves the right to redeploy you to an alternative role that is suitable to your skills and experience.
Laboratory Technician Contract
About the role We have great opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to cover Maternity Leave in our Kerry site in Charleville, Co. Cork. This is a full time, seasonal role Hours of work involve a 3 cycle shift pattern consisting of 0800 - 1600 / 1600 - 1200 / 1200- 0800 plus shift allowance of 25%. In our Kerry Ingredients site in Charleville, we have around 140 employees and we produce articles like skim milk powder for the infant and nutritional sector, functional dairy ingredients for the confectionary industry and a range of cheese powders for the savoury snack market. The site has canteen and onsite parking; and it is situated on Kilmallock Road (R515) within 15 minutes’ walk from the town centre. The Laboratory Technician is based in our Powder Lab, within Milk intake. You will be responsible for testing and analysing product samples to ensure that the quality standards are met. Any previous experience as Lab Assistant, Lab Analyst, Quality Technician or QC Technician will be advantageous. What will you be doing? Analysing raw materials (conc etc ) , in process and finished product samples (whey, skim, milk powder etc) across the in-process lab. Carrying out all laboratory activities in line with GLP and in-house requirements. Complying with GLP/ GMP and safety requirements at all times. Assisting with ensuring the laboratory is always adequately stocked with the consumables necessary to carry out the required analyses. Recording all data relevant to each test, and results and keeping all records up to date, clear and legible. Performing basic instrument calibration, maintenance (LECO) and completion of associated records. Participation in proficiency testing within scope of laboratory accreditations. Maintaining the laboratory in a clean and well organised status at all times. Participation in audits (internal and external) and inspections Support site audits as required. Any other duties required to fulfil role. What do you need to be successful? Lab experience is desirable but not essential. Computer Literate – working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SAP. Proven ability to work on own initiative. Proven ability to work within a quality control function, with attention to detail and compliance. Ability to multitask. Good communication skills.
