BROTHERS OF CHARITY SERVICES IRELAND – WEST REGION POST: TEMPORARY FULL-TIME STAFF GRADE PHYSIOTHERAPIST ADULT SERVICES GALWAY JOB REF: 79028 A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Staff Grade Physiotherapist appointments within the Services may be made over the next 6 months. The Role: This post will be located within Galway city and county providing physiotherapy services people supported who access Adult services within the Brothers of Charity. Qualifications: Candidates must have at the latest date of application: (i) Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. Please see list of acceptable Physiotherapy qualifications: https://coru.ie/files-registration/hse-list-of-physiotherapist-qualifications.pdf. AND (ii) Be registered on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. OR (iii) Applicants who satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005, (see note 1 below*), must submit proof of application for registration with the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. The acceptable proof is correspondence from the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU confirming their application for registration as a Section 91 applicant. AND (b) Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. Note 1*: Section 91 candidates are individuals who qualified before 30 September 2016 and have been engaged in the practice of the profession in the Republic of Ireland for a minimum of 2 years fulltime (or an aggregate of 2 years fulltime), between 30th September 2011 and 30th September 2016 are considered to be Section 91 applicants under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005. Annual registration (i) On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. AND (ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the employer. Character: Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character. Experience: It is desirable that candidates have experience or skills in the area of neurodisability and/or gerontology. A full clean driving licence and use of a car is an essential requirement of the post. Working Hours: 35 hours per week based on a 5 day duty roster. Contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 8am – 8pm as future Service needs require. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. Annual Leave: 27 days per annum. Remuneration: Department of Health Physiotherapist Salary scale (01/03/2025) - € 44,122 x 12 increments - € 61,953 per annum. LSI €63,154 per annum is payable after 3 years’ service at the maximum point of the scale Tenure: Temporary, full-time, pensionable and fixed term for 12 months. Travel: The person appointed must provide his/her own car and must furnish an indemnity from Insurers in favour of the employer. Travel expenses at the appropriate rate will be paid in respect of travel necessarily performed in the discharge of duty. The candidate will have a dual base for this purpose - John Paul Centre, Ballybane, Galway and St Brendan’s Home, Lake Road, Loughrea, Co. Galway. The health services are undergoing ongoing changes and due to re-alignment of services, a change in base could occur in the future.
