Behaviour Therapist

Role: Behaviour Therapist - Locum Location: Monasterevin, Co. Kildare Tenure: Fixed Term (Maternity Cover) - 78 hours per fortnight The successful candidate will become a key member of an evolving psychological services team led by the Principal Psychology Manager. The post will involve close collaborative working with the Senior Psychologist. The post holder will contribute to developing interdisciplinary supports for people in receipt of services from the clinical supports team in Kildare. The post holder will provide psychological supports to a broad range of individuals with intellectual disabilities, Autism and mental health concerns. The office base is Monasterevin. The person appointed will work as part of the psychology team, and in close collaboration with other clinicians, in providing assessment, formulation and multi-component behaviour supports to adults with intellectual disabilities and Autistic adults with high support needs. Although the post is for normal office hours, the successful candidate will be committed to a high degree of flexibility. The Muiriosa Foundation promotes a human rights-based approach. Behaviour Therapists develop evidence-informed, and values led, interventions collaboratively with the person supported under the supervision of Senior Psychologists. Why choose us? · Innovation and creativity in how we provide psychological supports. · A primary focus on the importance of attuned therapeutic relationships and meaningful connections. · A commitment to working in close collaboration with Autistic Consultants. · A human rights-based approach to promoting lives free of restrictions. · Access to exciting continuing professional development initiatives including: The successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the following: · An honours primary degree in psychology or equivalent (essential). · Post-graduate professional qualification in behavioural psychology or equivalent (e.g. BCBA), or working towards same (essential). · Eligible for membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (essential). · Relevant experience and demonstrable skills in working with adults with intellectual disabilities and Autistic adults with high support needs (essential). · Experience in designing and developing individualised support arrangements for adults with exceptional needs. · A knowledge of evidence-based interventions for families and staff teams supporting people who present with complex support needs (essential). · Demonstrated competencies in delivering staff training. · An understanding of the principles of social role valorisation. · Excellent interpersonal and consultation skills. · A commitment to person-centred values. · An interest in working towards status as Chartered Behavioural Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland. · Willingness and availability to work flexible hours in response to service demands (essential). · Full driving license, access to car and ability to travel across a broad geographical area (essential).
