Assistant Psychologist

We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our team in Cork Childrens Services, Curraheen, Cork Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract Contract Hours: 35 hours per week Salary Scale: €29,247 pro rata per annum. This pay scale is subject to increases in 2025 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations. Annual Leave Entitlement : 30 days per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service. Overview of the Post: Enable Ireland delivers children’s services under the national Progressing Disabilities Services (PDS) model for children and young people with complex needs arising from a disability. As a Lead Agency within this model, Enable Ireland has responsibility for the delivery of services to children assigned to Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT) within designated network areas. Services are provided in accordance with legislative and service delivery frameworks and requirements, within the resources allocated. As an Assistant Psychologist working as part of the interdisciplinary team, the post holder will work under the clinical supervision of a psychologist providing psychological support. This will include therapeutic support and assessments, to children and young people (aged 0 – 18 years) with complex needs. Services will be provided across a variety of settings including the clinic, schools, preschools and special schools, children’s homes and community settings. Overview of Duties & Responsibilities: Please see Job Description for full list The successful candidate will have Essential Criteria: · A Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) accredited qualification at not less than a Level 8 at 2.1 honours grade on the QQI qualifications framework in which psychology was a major subject. OR · A Level 8 honours degree in another subject (2.1 or higher) together with an accredited conversion qualification at a minimum of (2.1) as conferring eligibility for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland · Applicant must be graduate member of the PSI or the BPS. · Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and administrative ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. · Candidates must have experience of working with children or people with disabilities. Desirable Criteria: · Master’s degree in a relevant area of Psychology · Relevant training in areas specific to assessment/interventions with children aged up to 18 years · A Full Clean Driver’s License and access to own transport · Manual Handling training · Children First Training · Demonstrated evaluation and research skills · Relevant training in areas specific to therapeutic interventions for children 0–18 years If you believe you would fit the role then please submit your application today. As a Garden Centre Retail Assistant, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and advice to our customers, utilising your expertise and experience to ensure they receive the best possible care and advice. You will work be surrounded by a vast array of plant species, and will have opportunities to develop your horticultural knowledge and skills.
