Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) serves the entire community, a population of 1.9 million in an area of over 5,500 square miles. NIFRS has a proud tradition and history of serving the community with distinction.  NIFRS wish to invite applications for the following role: Accounting Technician - Job Ref: N054/08/2026 The Accounting Technician will assist the Finance offices with timely and accurate production of financial reports, information and reconciliations, through the provision of high quality administrative and technical support. They will contribute as an integral member of the Finance team to the provision of a modern, professional and responsive Financial Services to support the vision and mission of NIFRS. This is an excellent opportunity for suitably qualified Accounting Technician's, the role comes with an excellent benefits package including on-site parking, flexible working, generous holidays and gym facilities on-site (see separate benefits package document for further detail). Hours of work; Currently 36¼ hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. A Flexible Working Hours Scheme is in operation. In view of the level of this appointment, the post holder will be required to work in such a way as to fulfil the obligations of the post. Hybrid working may be available upon completion of the probationary period; currently Finance staff are required to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week, but should be available 5 days a weeks to attend the office as and when required for business need. There is currently 1 permanent post based at NIFRS HQ in Lisburn. This recruitment and selection process will also be used to fill future vacancies, a reserve list will be created for 12 months should any additional permanent or fixed term vacancies arise (offers of posts will be made in merit order). Salary The salary scale is SO2. The salary range is currently £37,280 - £39,152 per annum (Under Review). Nwcam Engineering Design Technician

The College is seeking applications for an Engineering Design Technician as part of the PEACEPLUS North West Centre for Advanced Manufacturing 2 (NWCAM2), to be based at our Greystone campus for a fixed-term position until September 2029. The postholder will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Strand 2 activities within the PEACEPLUS NWCAM2 programme. Reporting directly to the NWCAM2 Engineering Research and Innovation Manager, the NWCAM2 Design Technician will contribute to the development and implementation of engineering solutions for SMEs operating in the Health and Life Sciences sector. The position will involve supporting product development prototyping activities and engineering design within technical innovation projects, helping to convert new ideas into practical, high-quality outputs that are delivered within agreed timescales. The successful candidate will assist SMEs in adopting innovative technologies, sustainable practices, and advanced manufacturing techniques, with a particular emphasis on low-carbon approaches and the application of research-led solutions. Working closely with industry partners, academic institutions, and other stakeholders, the postholder will help drive improvements in business performance, environmental sustainability, and organisational competitiveness, supporting the achievement of programme objectives and measurable outcomes. North West Centre for Advanced Manufacturing 2 (NWCAM2) is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
