Overall job role: The Maintenance Supervisor, reporting to the Hospital Engineer or Designated Senior Manager will be responsible for the coordination of the Maintenance Team and Contractors for all site activities across the Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital Campus. The post holder will manage the day to day activities of the maintenance function of a busy Hospital campus. The position requires the successful candidate to have a wide knowledge of MEP systems (ideally including medical gasses) and buildings services and maintenance (preferably on a healthcare site) and to have the requisite experience implementing processes and safe systems of work to ensure facilities and system down-times are kept to a minimum. Experience of the use and implementation of maintenance and preventative maintenance automated systems is required. The post holder will be a highly motivated individual able to work on their own initiative. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in managing/supervising multidisciplinary technical staff in a complex engineering environment with a minimum of 7 years supervisory experience in a similar position. Appropriate experience in procurement, stock management and planned preventative maintenance implementation is essential. Ability to be an effective Communicator with staff within the Maintenance Department and wider Hospital in addition to report writing skills are essential for this key role.
