Certain locations will have minibus transport provided free of charge. • You will be responsible for ensuring stock is counted quickly and accurately using a handheld scanner. • Being able to stand for prolonged periods of time is needed for the role and access equipment such as ladders or steps may have to be used on occasion to reach high stock. Key Skills/ Experience Required • Due to the nature of our work, you must be able to work unsociable hours including early mornings and throughout the night when required. As a result, we can only accept applicants 18 years and over. • You must have a 'can do' attitude and be able to work long shifts when required on large counts. • With our innovative business, the technology changes and progresses and therefore being a quick learner is a key skill required. • Any experience of handling stock is an advantage but not a necessity. • A good understanding of the English language is essential. The key focus of this role will be warehouse based with delivery duties when the main delivery driver is on leave or during very busy periods when two vehicles are needed to transport very big orders. The Role: Will involve working on your own initiative, be efficient and tidy. Be able to learn quickly and have a flexible attitude to working hours. When delivering to customer to always be courteous and polite. Duties include but are not exhaustive to: - Responsible for maintaining standards of the store and the storing of all tiles and tiling applicators. Ensuring that health and safety measures are adhered to and that all tiles are neatly stored. Be willing to learn the collections of all tiles arriving in from Spain and Italy. Will receive and cross-check all orders (noting any damaged items) before signing and receipting them into stock. Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as needed to transport tiles. Generate delivery dockets to pick customer orders and prepare for outgoing deliveries. Forklift and manual handing passes are advantageous but can be completed at the Training Centre in the retail park. Competent in the use of computer and printing systems. The Office of Public Works (OPW) invites applications for permanent, fixed term and seasonal positions that may arise at the grade of General Operative Band 3 (Rural) in the areas within the responsibility of the Dromahair National Monuments District. The Dromahair National Monuments District covers Counties Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo, Roscommon and Longford, and has a main depot in Dromahair, and sub depots in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, Carrowmore, Co. Sligo, Boyle Co. Roscommon and Foxford, Co. Mayo. The positions are Non-Established State Industrial posts based on a 39-hour week (full-time) rostered over 5 days, (Monday to Friday) and appointments will be subject to a probationary period of 7 months which may be extended to 10 months under certain circumstances. Continuation in employment in the position, following the end of the Probation Period, will be dependent upon the appointee fully meeting the requirements of the positions during the Probation Period. The actual hours of attendance are determined by local management requirements. This is an OPW recruitment competition to which applicants with the minimum eligibility requirements may apply. Persons who wish to be considered for appointment to the above position should submit a completed application form, and copies of specified required documentation. Selection for appointment to the position will be determined by the Interview Board through a competitive interview process.
