Purpose of the Role The Alders Unit is a specialist Child Sexual Abuse Assessment and Therapy Service and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the overall management of the service and to undertake clinical work. The assessment and therapy service is a multidisciplinary service involving Psychology, Social Work, Psychiatry and Psychotherapy professionals. The role of the Principal Psychologist will be to jointly manage these services with other members of the management team, including managing referrals, allocations and group supervision, development of the service and liaison with relevant external agencies in relation to the work, including Tusla and An Garda Siochana. The Principal Psychologist will also be involved in providing consultation, teaching and training. Clinical Nurse Specialist Adolescent And Young Adult Cancer
Purpose of the Role Deliver care in line with the five core concepts of the role set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse Specialist Posts, 4th edition, National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (NCNM) 2008 Caseload: Adolescents and Young Adults aged 13-24 (+ 364 days) years at diagnosis in CHI @ Crumlin, and 0.2 WTE in St James’s hospital, Dublin · The National framework of care for AYAs with cancer recognises the unique needs of the AYA cancer population. Approximately 200 people aged 13- 24 years are diagnosed with cancer annually in Ireland. The management of AYA patients with malignancy requires a broad range of professional skills including but not limited to communication, leadership, teaching, education, and research and counselling. The CNS will focus initially on the following patient groups: AYAs diagnosed with cancer aged 13-24 (+364 days) years. This post is co-appointed with St James’s hospital and the post holder will contribute to the development of transition programmes and care continuum of AYAs in both hospitals. The post holder will care for young people in collaboration with multidisciplinary team. · The AYA CNS will act as a key worker for AYA cancer patients in CHI @ Crumlin where there is a requirement and ensure assessment and care delivery in a holistic, developmentally appropriate manner. · Must demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, with a high level of clinical expertise in identifying and providing specialist care for AYA cancer patients. · The CNS will have the expertise to tailor care to the specific needs of the AYA population and liaise with multi-disciplinary team members, shared care teams and community teams to ensure a seamless delivery of developmentally appropriate care from prevention to transition, survivorship and end of life. · The post-holder will work closely with colleagues within the national AYA caner network, community services, educational and vocational services and charity partners providing services for AYAs. Essential Criteria: (i)Be a registered nurse/midwife on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives held by An Bord Altranais and Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be eligible to be so registered AND (ii) Be registered in the division(s) of General Nursing with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann AND (iii) Have a minimum of 1 years’ post registration full time experience or an aggregate of 1 years’ full-time experience in the division of the register in which the application is being made AND (iv) Have a minimum of 1 years’ experience or an aggregate of 1 years’ full-time experience in specialist area of acute paediatric nursing AND/OR (v) Have a minimum of 1 years’ experience or an aggregate of 1 years’ full-time experience in specialist area of cancer nursing (vi) Have successfully completed a post registration programme of study, as certified by the education provider which verifies that the applicant has achieved a Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 9 or higher award (equivalent to 60 ECTS or above) that is relevant to the specialist area of care and in line with the requirements for specialist practice as set out by the National Council for Nursing and Midwifery 4th ed (2008).
